Psalms 73

¹ E dey really true say God dey good to Israel, to those wey get pure heart.

² But I don almost lose confidence; my faith don almost go

³ because I dey jealous those wey dey proud when I dey see say things dey go well for the wicked.

⁴ Dem no dey suffer pain; dem dey strong and healthy.

⁵ Dem no dey suffer as others dey do; dem no get the trouble wey others get.

⁶ So, dem carry pride for neck like necklace and violence like cloth;

⁷ Their heart dey pour out evil, and their mind dey busy with wicked plan.

⁸ Dem they laugh other people and speak evil things; dem dey proud and make plan to oppress others.

⁹ Dem dey speak evil about God in heaven and give arrogant orders to everybody on top earth,

¹⁰ so that God people go even turn to them and believe wetin dem talk sharply.

¹¹ Dem talk say, “God no go know; the Most High no go find out.”

¹² Na wetin the wicked be like be that. Dem get plenty and dem still dey get more always.

¹³ Shey as I don keep myself pure and no commit sin na for nothing?

¹⁴ O God, you don make me suffer all day; every morning you dey punish me.

¹⁵ If I don talk that kind thing, I no go dey act like one of your people.

¹⁶ I dey try think about this problem, but e dey hard for me

¹⁷ until I enter your Temple. Na then I con know wetin go happen to the wicked.

¹⁸ You go put them for place wey dey slippery and make them fall to destruction!

¹⁹ Dem go destroy instantly; dem go enter down to horrible end.

²⁰ Dem be like dream wey dey go away for morning; O Lord, dem disappear when you rise by yourself.

²¹ When my thought dey bitter and wen my feeling dey hurt,

²² I dey stupid like animal; I no dey understand you.

²³ Still I dey always stay close to you, and you dey hold me for hand.

²⁴ Your teaching dey guide me and for end you dey receive me with honor.

²⁵ Wetin else wey I get for heaven but you? Since I get you, wetin I fit dey find on earth?

²⁶ My mind and body fit grow weak, but na God be my strength; na him be everything I need.

²⁷ Those wey abandon you go perish; you go destroy those wey no dey faithful to you.

²⁸ But as for me, e dey wonderful to dey near God, to find protection with the Almighty God and to talk about everything wey he don do!
