Psalms 55

¹ Hear my prayer, O God; no turn away as I dey beg you.

² Hear wetin I dey talk and make you answer me; I don worn out because I dey worry.

³ I dey fear as my enemy dey threaten me, I don weak as the wicked dey oppress me. Dem bring trouble on top me; dem dey vex with me and dem hate me

⁴ I dey fear, and the fear of death dey make me weak.

⁵ Fear catch me and I dey shake; fear don overcome me.

⁶ I wish say I been get wing like dove. I for fly away go find rest.

⁷ I go fly far away and I go build house for desert.

⁸ I go hurry find shelter for myself from the terrible wind and storm.

⁹ O Lord, confuse wetin my enemy dey talk; I dey see riot and violence for the city,

¹⁰ wey dey surround am day and night, wey be say na crime and trouble full am.

¹¹ Destruction dey for everywhere; oppression and fraud full the street.

¹² If to say na enemy dey laugh me, I fit endure am; if to say na opponent dey boast for me, I fit hide myself from him.

¹³ But na you, my partner, my teammate and close friend.

¹⁴ We been get deep talk with each other and worship together for Temple.

¹⁵ Make my enemy die before their time; make dem go down alive inside world of the dead; evil dey their house and e dey their heart.

¹⁶ But I call to the LORD God for help and him go save me.

¹⁷ Morning, afternoon and night my complain dey go up to him, and him go hear my voice.

¹⁸ Him go bring me back safe from the battle wey I dey fight against plenty enemy.

¹⁹ God, wey don rule from eternity, go hear me and him go defeat them; because dem no gree change, and dem no dey fear him.

²⁰ My former partner attack him friend; him break him promise

²¹ Him words smooth pass cream, but evil dey for him heart; him word dey gentle like oil, but e dey cut like sharp sword.

²² Make una leave una trouble with God, and he go defend una; he no dey allow defeat come to honest people.

²³ But O God, na you go bring those killers and liars to their grave before half of their life finish. As for me, I go trust in you.
