Hear as I dey pray, O LORD, and hear as I dey cry for help!

When I dey for trouble, no turn away from me! Listen to me, make you answer me quick when I call;

My life dey disappear like smoke; my body dey burn like fire.

Dem beat me down like dry grass; I no dey fit chop.

I dey murmur loud; I be nothing but skin and bone.

I be like wild bird for desert, like owl wey dey for place where dem don abandon.

I dey lie awake; I be like bird wey dey alone for house top.

Every day my enemy dey insult me; those wey dey mock me dey use my name to dey curse.

Because of your anger, ashes na my food,

and my cry dey mix with my drink. You pick me up and you throway me.

My life be like shadow for evening; I be like dry grass.

But you, O LORD, you be king forever; all generation go remember you.

You go rise and have pity on Zion; the time don reach to have mercy on am; na the right time be this.

Your servant love am, even though e don spoil; have pity on am, even though e don destroy.

Nations go fear the LORD; all the king on top earth go fear him power.

When the LORD rebuild Zion, him go show him greatness.

Him go hear him abandoned people and listen to their prayer.

Write wetin the LORD don do for the generation wey dey come, so that people wey dem never born go praise him.

God look down from him holy place on high, him look down from heaven to earth.

Him hear as the prisoner dey complain and set those wey dem don condemn to die free.

And so dem go talk about him name for Zion, and dem go praise him for Jerusalem

when nations and kingdoms gather together to come worship the LORD.

The LORD don make me weak when I still dey young; him don shorten my life.

O God, no take me away now before I grow old. O LORD, you dey live forever;

long ago you been create the earth, and you make the heaven with your own hand.

Dem go disappear, but you go remain; dem go wear out like cloth. You go throway them like cloth and dem go disappear.

But you be the same always, and your life no fit end.

Our children go live safe, and their descendant go dey safe under your protection.
