Proverbs 28

¹ The wicked dey run when no one dey chase them, but honest person get courage like lion.

² A nation wey no get law go get plenty bad rulers. But a leader wey smart go rule for a long time in a land wey people dey obey law.

³ A leader wey dey oppress the poor be like hard rain wey dey destroy crops.

⁴ If you no get respect for the law, you dey for the side of the wicked; but if you dey obey am, you dey against them.

⁵ Evil people no know wetin justice be, but those wey worship God understand am well.

⁶ E better to dey poor and honest pass make you dey rich and no dey honest.

⁷ A young man wey obey the law dey intelligent. One wey make friends with good-for-nothing na disgrace to him papa.

⁸ If you become rich as you dey charge interest and dey take advantage of people, someone wey dey kind to the poor go take your wealth.

⁹ If you no obey the law, God no go listen to your prayers.

¹⁰ If you trick honest person to dey do evil, you go fall inside your own trap. But good things go happen to good people.

¹¹ Rich people dey always think say dem wise, but poor person wey wise fit see the truth.

¹² When good people take power, everybody dey celebrate, but when bad people dey rule, people dey hide.

¹³ You no go ever succeed in life if you dey try hide your sin. Confess them and stop to dey do wrong; then God go show you mercy.

¹⁹ A farmer wey dey work-hard dey get plenty to chop. People wey dey waste time go always dey poor.

²⁰ Honest people go live a happy life. But if you dey hurry to get rich, you go get punished.

²¹ Partiality na wrong thing. But some judges go do wrong thing so that dem fit get small bribe.

²² Selfish people only wan get rich. Dem no know say poverty don dey close to them.

²³ Make you correct someone, and he go thank you later. E better pass sweet talk.

²⁴ Anyone wey think say e no dey wrong to steal from him parents no better pass common thief.

²⁵ To dey selfish dey only cause trouble. E better for you make you trust God.

²⁶ Na foolish thing to dey follow your own opinion. Be safe and follow the teaching of the people wey wise pass you.

²⁷ Give to the poor and you no go ever lack. If you con close your eyes to the poor, plenty people go curse you.

²⁸ People dey hide when wicked don come to power. But when dem fall from power, good people go rule again.
