¹ God hate people wey dey use false measurement. He dey happy with honest measurement.

² Shame go soon catch people wey get pride. Na wise thing to dey humble.

³ If you dey good, na honesty dey guide you. Na dishonesty dey destroy people wey person no fit trust.

⁴ Riches no go do you any good on the day you face death, but honesty fit save your life.

⁵ Honesty fit make good person life dey easier, but the wicked go cause their own downfall.

⁶ Righteousness dey rescue those wey dey honest, but na the greed of those wey person no fit trust dey trap them.

⁷ When wicked people die, their hope dey die with them. Trust in riches dey turn to nothing.

⁸ The righteous dey protected from trouble; instead trouble dey come to the wicked.

⁹ Talk of people wey no know God fit destroy you, but the wisdom of the righteous fit save you.

¹⁰ A city dey happy when honest people dey get good fortune, and dem dey shout for joy when wicked people don perish.

¹¹ A city dey become great when the righteous don give am their blessings; but the words of the wicked dey destroy a city.

¹² Stupid people dey do bad-belle of their neighbors. If you get sense, you go shut up.

¹³ Nobody fit trust person wey dey gossip, but you fit put trust in person wey dey keep quiet.

¹⁴ Nation go fall if e no get wise leaders. Plenty good advisors dey make nation dey safe.

¹⁵ If you promise say you go help stranger pay him debt, you go regret am. E better for you make you no involve yourself at all.

¹⁶ A gracious woman dey get respect, but shame dey catch woman wey no get honor. Lazy people no go ever get money, but bold people go dey rich.

¹⁷ Na favor you do yourself when you dey kind. If you dey wicked, you go only hurt yourself.

¹⁸ Wicked people no dey really gain anything, but if you dey do right thing, e dey sure say you go get reward.

¹⁹ Anybody wey determine to do right go live, but anyone wey insist to dey do wrong go die.

²⁴ Some people dey spend their money freely and dem still dey grow richer. Others dey spend carefully, and yet dem still dey grow poorer.

²⁵ Make you dey generous, and you go dey prosperous. Make you help others, and you go get help.

²⁶ People curse someone wey hold grain, wey dey wait for higher price, but dem praise person wey sell am.

²⁷ People go respect you, if your purpose dey good, but if you dey look for trouble, na wetin you go get be that.

²⁸ Those wey depend on their wealth go fall like leave of autumn, but the righteous go prosper like leave of summer.

²⁹ Those wey bring trouble on top their families no go get anything at the end. Foolish people go always be servant to the wise.

³⁰ Righteousness dey give live, but evil dey take am away.

³¹ Those wey dey good dey receive reward for here on earth, so una fit dey sure say wicked and sinful people go get punishment.
