Judges 10

⁸ For eighteen years, dem oppress and abuse all the Israelites wey dey live for Amorite country wey dey east of River Jordan for Gilead.

⁹ Even the Ammonites cross the Jordan to go fight the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and Ephraim. Israel dey for great pain.

¹⁰ Then the Israelites con cry out to God and dem say, “We don sin against you, because we don leave you, our God, and dey worship the Baals.”

¹¹ Na the answer wey God give them be this: “The Egyptians, Amorites, Ammonites, Philistines,

¹² Sidonians, Amalekites, and the Maonites dey oppress una in the past, and una cry out to me. Shey I no save una from them?

¹³ But una still leave me and dey worship other gods, so I no go rescue una again.

¹⁴ Make una go out go cry to the gods wey una don choose. Make una allow them rescue una when una enter trouble.”

¹⁵ But the people of Israel tell God say, “We don sin. Make you do anything wey you like, but we beg, say make you save us today.”

¹⁶ So dem destroy their foreign gods and worship God: and he con dey worry for the pain of Israel.

¹⁷ The Ammonites army con prepare for battle and dem make camp for Gilead.

¹⁸ Na for there the people and the leaders of the tribes of Israelites dey ask one another say. “Who go lead the fight against the Ammonites? Anybody wey lead go be the leader for everybody in Gilead.”
