Jonah 4

¹ Jonah no happy for this and he vex.

² So he pray to God say, “God, shey I no talk am before I commot for house say na wetin you go do be this? Na reason why I try my best make I run go Spain! I know say you be loving and merciful God, you dey always dey patient, always dey kind, and always dey ready to change your mind and no punish again.

³ Now, God, allow me make I die, e better make I die pass make I dey alive.”

⁴ God tell am say, Wetin be your own to dey vex?”

⁵ Jonah commot go east go siddon for there. He make shelter for himself and siddon under the shade, dey wait to see wetin go happen to Nineveh.

⁶ Then the LORD God make tree grow over Jonah to cover am, so he go dey more comfortable. Jonah dey happy with the tree.

⁷ For morning, God send worm make e attack the tree and the tree die.

⁸ After the sun rise, God send hot east wind and Jonah wan faint for the heat of the sun wey dey beat am for him head. He wish say him don die. He talk say “E better make I die pass make I dey alive,”

⁹ But God tell am say, “Wetin be your own to dey vex about the tree? Jonah say, “I get plenty right to vex - enough to die!”

¹⁰ God tell am say, “This plant grow one night and disappear the next day; you no do anything for am, and you no make am grow – yet you dey feel sorry for am!

¹¹ If you get pity for plant, I suppose get pity on top my Nineveh, the big city. After all,e get pass 120,000 innocent children inside am, even plenty animals!”
