Everyone use shout drive them away, like say dem dey shout on top thief.

Na cave dem con dey live for inside hole wey dem dig beside cliff.

Now dem dey come laugh me! I be nothing but joke to them

Dem hate me and stay away from me, and even come spit for my face.

Because God don make me weak and helpless, dem turn against me with all their anger.

Dem stop my escape and try destroy me; and nobody dey to stop them.

Dem pass through holes in my defense and dem crash down on top me;

Fear don overcome me; my honor don go like breeze, and my prosperity don go like cloud.

Now I don almost die; relief no dey for my suffer.

For night my bone dey ache; the pain wey dey bite me no dey stop.

God seize me by my collar and twist my cloth out from shape.

He throw me down inside mud; I no better pass dirty.

O God, I dey call you, but you no dey answer; and when I pray you no dey listen.

You dey wicked me; you dey punish me with all your power.

You allow wind blow me commot; you dey throw me around inside terrible storm.

I know say you dey carry me to my death., you dey carry me to the fate wey you don keep for everyone.

Why you dey attack person wey don spoil, person wey no fit do anything but to beg for pity?

I no weep for people wey dey for trouble and feel sorry for those wey dey in need?

I dey hope for happiness and light, but na trouble and darkness dey come instead.

Worry and pain don tear me apart; I don dey suffer day by day.

I dey go around inside darkness, without sunshine; I stand up for public and I beg for help.

My voice dey sad and lonely like the one wey jackal or ostrich dey cry.

My skin don turn dark, fever dey kill me.

I been dey hear joyful music before, but now na only cry and sorrow I dey hear.
