Job 3

Finally Job stop to dey silent and he curse the day wey den born am.

O God, put curse on the day wey dem born me;

put curse on the night wey dem born me!

God, make you turn that day to darkness. Make I no remember that day again; make light no shine on am again.

Make am a day wey darkness dey thick; cover am with cloud, and mark out the sun.

Mark that night commot from the year, make e no dey for calendar again;

Make that night no dey produce anything again, make e be night wey no get joy.

Tell the wizard make them curse that day, those wey fit control Leviathan.

Make the morning star no shine; make that night no get hope for morning.

I even wish say e no allow make dem born me, and keep me make I no see all this trouble.

I wish say I don die for my mama belle or die the time wey dem born me.

Why my mama hold me for her knee? Why she feed me with her breast?

If to say I don die, I go dey rest now,

I for dey sleep like kings and rulers wey rebuild old palace.

Then I go dey sleep like prince wey full him house with gold and silver,

Or dey sleep like new born pikin wey dem born dead.

For inside grave wicked people dey stop their evil, and workers wey don tire dey find rest at last.

Even prisoner dey enjoy peace, dem dey free from shout and terrible command.

Everybody dey there, the popular people and the people wey no popular, and slave dey free at last.

Why you allow people dey live inside pain? Why you give light to those wey dey sad?

Dem wait for death, but e no come; dem prefer grave pass any treasure.

Dem no happy till dem die and when dem bury dem;

God hide their future and trim them for every side.

Instead make I dey chop, I dey mourn, and I no fit stop to dey complain.

Everything wey I fear dey come true.

I no get peace, no rest and my trouble no dey end.
