Read Job 3

1 LẸHIN eyi ni Jobu yanu o si fi ọjọ ibi rẹ̀ ré.

1 After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day.

2 Jobu sọ, o si wipe,

2 And Job spake, and said,

3 Ki ọjọ ti a bi mi ki o di igbagbe, ati oru nì, ninu eyi ti a wipe; a loyun ọmọkunrin kan.

3 Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived.

4 Ki ọjọ na ki o jasi òkunkun, ki Ọlọrun ki o má ṣe kà a si lati ọrun wá, bẹ̃ni ki imọlẹ ki o máṣe mọ́ si i.

4 Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it.

5 Ki òkunkun ati ojiji ikú fi ṣe ti ara wọn: ki awọsanma ki o bà le e, ki iṣúdùdu ọjọ na ki o pa a laiya.

5 Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.

6 Ki òkunkun ki o ṣúbo oru na biribiri, ki o má ṣe yọ̀ pẹlu ọjọ ọdun na: ki a má ṣe kà a mọ iye ọjọ oṣù.

6 As for that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months.

7 Ki oru na ki o yàgan; ki ohùn ayọ̀ kan ki o má ṣe wọnu rẹ̀ lọ.

7 Lo, let that night be solitary, let no joyful voice come therein.

8 Ki awọn ti ifi ọjọ gegun ki o fi i gegun, ti nwọn muratan lati rú Lefiatani soke.

8 Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning.

9 Ki irawọ̀ ofẽfe ọjọ rẹ̀ ki o ṣokùnkun; ki o ma wá imọlẹ, ṣugbọn ki o má si, bẹ̃ni ki o má ṣe ri afẹmọjumọ́.

9 Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the dawning of the day:

10 Nitoriti kò se ilẹkun inu iya mi, bẹ̃ni kó si pa ibinujẹ mọ́ kuro li oju mi.

10 Because it shut not up the doors of my mother's womb, nor hid sorrow from mine eyes.

11 Ẽṣe ti emi kò fi kú lati inu wá, tabi ti emi kò fi pin ẹmi nigbati mo ti inu jade wá?

11 Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?

12 Ẽṣe ti ẽkun wá pade mi, tabi ọmu ti emi o mu?

12 Why did the knees prevent me? or why the breasts that I should suck?

13 Njẹ! nisisiyi, emi iba ti dubulẹ̀ jẹ, emi a si dakẹ, emi iba ti sùn: njẹ emi iba ti simi!

13 For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,

14 Pẹlu awọn ọba ati igbimọ aiye, ti o mọle takete fun ara wọn.

14 With kings and counsellers of the earth, which built desolate places for themselves;

15 Tabi pẹlu awọn ọmọ-alade ti o ni wura, ti nwọn si fi fadakà kún inu ile wọn.

15 Or with princes that had gold, who filled their houses with silver:

16 Tabi bi ọlẹ̀ ti a sin, emi kì ba ti si; bi ọmọ iṣẹnu ti kò ri imọlẹ.

16 Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.

17 Nibẹ ni ẹni-buburu ṣiwọ iyọnilẹnu, nibẹ ẹni-ãrẹ̀ wà ninu isimi.

17 There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.

18 Nibẹ ni awọn ìgbekun simi pọ̀, nwọn kò si gbohùn amunisìn mọ́.

18 There the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of the oppressor.

19 Ati ewe ati àgba wà nibẹ, ẹru si di omnira kuro lọwọ olowo rẹ̀.

19 The small and great are there; and the servant is free from his master.

20 Nitori kili a ṣe fi imọlẹ fun otoṣi, ati ìye fun ọlọkàn kikoro.

20 Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, and life unto the bitter in soul;

21 Ti nwọn duro de ikú, ṣugbọn on kò wá, ti nwọn wàlẹ wá a jù fun iṣura ti a bò mọlẹ pamọ.

21 Which long for death, but it cometh not; and dig for it more than for hid treasures;

22 Ẹniti o yọ̀ gidigidi, ti inu wọn si dùn nigbati nwọn ba le wá isa-okú ri.

22 Which rejoice exceedingly, and are glad, when they can find the grave?

23 Kili a fi imọlẹ fun ẹniti ọ̀na rẹ̀ lumọ si, ti Ọlọrun si sọgba di mọ ká?

23 Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in?

24 Nitoripe imi-ẹ̀dun mi ṣaju ki nto jẹun, ikerora mi si tú jade bi omi.

24 For my sighing cometh before I eat, and my roarings are poured out like the waters.

25 Nitoripe ohún na ti mo bẹ̀ru gidigidi li o de ba mi yi, ẹ̀ru ohun ti mo bà li o si de si mi yi.

25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.

26 Emi kò wà lailewu rí, bẹ̃li emi kò ni isimi, bẹ̃li emi kò ni ìfaiyabalẹ, asiwá-asibọ̀ iyọnu de.

26 I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.
