Nigerian Pidgin Bible
Job 14
All of us, we be human being. Our life short and e dey full of trouble.
We dey grow and die quick like flower; we dey disappear like shadow.
God, shey you go even look me, or put me for court and judge me?
Nothing wey clean fit come from anything wey no clean like human being.
The length of our lives don dey fixed already - the amount of month we go live. You don settle am, and nobody fit change am.
No look away from us make you leave us alone; make we enjoy our hard life - if we fit.
Hope dey for tree wey dem don cut down; e fit come back to life and grow.
Even if the root don grow old, and the tail end don die for ground,
e go grow like young plant with water.
But people die, and na their end be that; dem die, and where dem con dey?
Like river wey stop to dey run, and lake wey dey dry.
People dey die, dem no dey rise again. Dem no go ever wake up when sky still dey; dem no go ever wake from their sleep.
I wish say you go hide me for world of the dead; make e hide me until you no dey vex for me again, and con set time to remember me.
If people die, dem fit come back to life? But I go wait for better time, I go wait till the time of trouble don end.
Then you go call, and I go answer, and you go happy for me, wey you create.
Then you go watch every step wey I take, but you no go dey track my sin.
You go forgive them and put them away; you go wipe out all the wrong wey I don do.
E get time wey mountain fall and strong cliff dey move away.
Water go wash down rock, and heavy rain go wash away soil; naso you spoil our hope for life.
You dey defeat us and send us commot forever; you dey use death change the way we look.
Our children dey win honor, but we no know about am. If our son do wetin dey wrong, we no go see am.
We dey only feel the pain wey dey our body and pain wey dey our mind.
