Jeremiah 43

¹ I finish to dey tell them everything wey the LORD their God don send me to tell them.

² Then Azariah son of Hoshaiah and Johanan son of Kareah and all men wey get strong head tell me say, “You dey lie. The LORD our God no send you to us make we no go and live for Egypt.

³ Baruch son of Neriah don make you vex against us, so that the Babylonians go gain power over us and fit kill us or take us away go Babylonia.”

⁴ So Johanan or any of the army officers or any of the people no gree obey the command of God to remain for land of Judah

⁵ Then Johanan and all the army officers take everybody wey remain for Judah go Egypt, together with all the people wey don return from the nation where dem don scatter:

⁶ The men, the women, the children, and all the king daughters. Dem take everyone wey Nebuzaradan the commanding officer don leave under the care of Gedaliah, with Baruch and me.

⁷ Dem disobey the command of God and dem enter Egypt as far reach city of Tahpanhes.

⁸ For there God tell me say,

⁹ “Get some large stone and bury them inside concrete of sideway wey dey front of the entrance to government building here in the city, and let some Israelites see you as you dey do am.

¹⁰ Then tell them say, I, the LORD Almight, the God of Israel, go bring my servant king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylonia come this place, and he go put him throne over these stone wey you don bury, and he go spread the royal tent on top them.
