Jeremiah 13

¹ God tell me make I go buy linen shorts for myself and make I wear them; but he tell me make I no put them for water.

² Naso I buy them and wear them.

³ Then God follow me talk again, and say,

⁴ “Go to River Euphrates and hide the short for hole inside rock.”

⁵ Naso I go hide them near Euphrates.

⁶ After some time God tell me say make I go back to Euphrates and make I go take the shorts.

⁷ Naso I go back, and when I see the place wey I hide them, I see say dem don spoil and dem no dey good again.

⁸ Then God follow me talk again. He talk say,

⁹ Naso I go destroy the pride of Judah and great pride of Jerusalem.

¹⁰ These evil people no gree obey me. Dem don dey stubborn and wicked like before, and dem don worship and serve other god. So then, dem go become like these shorts wey no dey good again.

¹¹ Just as short dey fit tight round waist, naso I expect people of Judah and Jerusalem make dem hold me tight. I do this so that dem fit become my people and bring praise and honour to my name; but dem no go gree obey me.”

¹² The LORD God tell me say, “Jeremiah, tell the people of Israel say make dem fill every wine bottle with wine. Dem go answer say dem know say wine bottle suppose dey full with wine

¹³ Then tell them say I, the LORD, I go fill people of this land with wine until dem high: the kings, wey be descendant of David, the priest, the prophet, and all people of Jerusalem.

¹⁴ Then I go break them like bottle against one another, old and young the same way. No pity, compassion, or mercy go stop me from killing them.”

¹⁵ People of Israel, God don speak! Make una humble and listen to him.

¹⁶ Make una honour the LORD, una God, before he bring darkness and una go fall on top mountain; before he turn the light wey una dey hope for to darkness.

¹⁷ If una no go listen, I go cry for secret because of una pride; I go cry bitterly and my tears go flow because dem don carry people of God go like prisoners.

¹⁸ God tell me say, “Tell the king and him mama say make dem come down from their throne, because their beautiful crown don fall commot from their head.

¹⁹ Towns of southern Judah dey under attack, nobody fit get through to them. Dem don take all people of Judah commot go foreign land.”

²⁰ Look, Jerusalem! Your enemy dey come down from north! Where the people wey dey your care, your people wey you dey proud of?

²¹ Wetin you go say when people wey you think say dem be your friend defeat you and rule over you? You go be in pain like woman wey dey give birth.

²² If una ask why all this things don happen to una- why una cloth don tear and dem don rape una- na because una sin dey terrible.

²³ Shey Nubian fit change him skin colour, or leopard fit remove hin spots? If dem fit, then una wey dey do evil suppose learn how to dey do right thing.

²⁴ God go scatter una like small grain wey desert wind blow commot.

²⁵ He don talk say na wetin go happen to una be this. Na wetin he don decide to do with una be this, because una don forget him and una don trust false gods.

²⁶ God go naked una and expose una to shame.

²⁷ He don see una dey do the things wey he hate. He don see una dey go after pagan god on top hill and for field, like man wey wan flirt with him neighbor wife or like male horse wey dey flirt with female horse. People of Jerusalem, una don enter trouble! When una go ever dey pure?
