Isaiah 43

¹ Israel, God wey create una talk say, “Make una no fear-I go save una. I don call una by name- una be my own.

² When una pass through deep water, I go dey with una; una trouble no go overcome una. When una pass through fire, e no go burn una; hard trials wey come no go hurt una.

³ Because I be the LORD una God, the holy God of Israel, wey save una. I go abandone Egypt to free una; I go abandone Ethiopia and Seba

⁴ I go abandon all nations to save una life, because una dey precious to me and because I love una and I don give honour to una.

⁵ Make una no fear- I dey with una! “I go bring your people come home from far west and from very far west.

⁶ I go tell north make dem allow them go and I go tell the south make dem no hold them back. Make my people return from distant lands, from every part of the world.

⁷ Dem be my own people and I don create them say make them bring glory to me.”

⁸ God talk say, “call my people to court. Dem get eyes, dem no dey see; dem get ear, but dem no dey hear!

⁹ Call nations make them come for the case. Which of their gods fit predict the future? Which of them don talk wetin dey happen now? Make these gods bring their witness to prove say dem dey right, so that he go fit testify to truth of their words.

¹ “People of Israel, una be my witness; I chose una to be my servant, so that una fit know me and believe in me and understand say I be the only God. No other god dey beside me; other god never dey and e no go ever dey.

¹ “I be the only God, the only one wey fit save una.

¹ I dey predict wetin go happen, and I con help una. No foreign god don do this before; una be my witness.

¹ I be God and I go always be God. No one fit escape from my power; no one fit change wetin I don do.”

¹ Holy God of Israel, the LORD wey save una, talk say, I go send army against Babylon to save una; I go break the city down, and the shout of her people go turn cry.

¹ I be the LORD, your holy God. Israel na me create una, and I be una king.”

¹ Long time ago, God make way through sea,a way through water wey dey spin.

¹ He lead mighty army to destruction, army of chariot and horses. Dem fall down, and no go rise again, he quench them like flame of lamp!

¹ But God talk say, “Make una no remember wetin don happen before or dwell on wetin don happen for long.

¹ Make una watch for the new things wey I go do. E don dey happen already- una fit see am now! I go make road through widerness and I go give una stream of water for there.

² Even wild animals go honour me; jackals and ostriches go praise me when I make rivers flows for desert to give water to my people wey I don chose.

² Dem be the people wey I make for myself, and dem go sing my praises!”

² God talk say, “But una don tire for me, Israel; una no worship me.

² Una no bring una burnt offering of sheep to me; una no honour me with una sacrifice. I no bother una to dey ask for offering or disturb una to dey ask for incense.

² Una no buy me incense or satisfy me with fat of una animals. Instead una dey bother me with una sin; una make me tire with wrongs wey una dey commit.

² And yet, I be God wey dey forgive una sins, and I do this because who I be. I no go hold una sin against una.

² “Make we go court; Make una present una case to prove say una dey for right!

² Una ancestors don sin; una leaders don sin against me,

² And una rulers don make my sanctuary unclean. Na so I bring destruction on top Israel; I others insult my people.”
