Isaiah 33

¹ Our enemies don enter trouble! Dem rob and betray, although no one don rob them or betray them. But their time to dey rob and betray go end, and dem go become victim of robbing and betrayal too.

² God, show us your mercy. We don put our hope in you. Make you protect us day by day and save us when we dey for trouble.

³ When you con fight for us, nations go dey run away from noise of battle.

⁴ Una dey steal things when war dey happen, una go loose those things, plenty people go come take una wealth e go be like the time when locust come chop una crops

⁵ The LORD na great God! He dey rule over everything. He go fill Jerusalem with justice and integrity

⁶ And e go make the nation stable. He dey always protect him people and give them wisdom and knowledge. Na their respect for the LORD be there treasure wey great pass.

⁷ The brave dey call for help. The ambassador wey dey try bring peace dey cry bitterly.

⁸ The highway dey dangerous so tey no one fit travel on them. deals dey break and dem no dey follow agreement. No one dey get respect again.

⁹ The land dey empty. The forest of Lebanon don dry, the fertile valley of Sharon be like desert, and leaves dey fall from the tree of Bashan and on top Mount Carmel.

¹ God tell the nations say, “Now I go act. I go show how powerful I be.

¹ Una dey make useless plan and everything wey una dey do na useless. My spirit be like fire wey go destroy una.

¹ Una go break like rock wey dem break to make lime stone, like thorns wey burn to ashes.

¹ Make everyone wey dey near and far hear wetin I don say and make dem respect my power.”

¹ Sinful people of Zion dey shake and fear, dem say, “Judgement of God be like fire wey burn for ever. Shey any of us fit survive fire wey be like that?”

¹ Una fit survive if una talk and do wetin dey right. Make una no use una power cheat the poor and make una no dey take bribes. Make una no join those wey plan to commit murder or do other evil things.

¹ Then una go dey safe; una go dey secure like say una dey inside strong tower. Una go get food to eat and water to drink.

¹ Again, Una go see king wey dey rule in glory over a land wey stretch in all direction.

¹ Una old fear of foreign tax collector and spys go only turn to memory

² Make una look at Zion, the city where we dey celebrate our glorious festivals. Make una look at Jerusalem! E go be safe place to dey live! E go be like tent wey dem never move, wey the pegs no fit remove and wey the rope never break.

² God go show us him glory. We go dey live beside broad river and stream, but enemy ship no go sail on them.

² All ropes on those ship dey useless; the sail no fit spread! We go collect all the wealth of enemy army, and plenty things go dey wey be say even the lame fit get share.

² God himself go be our king; he go rule over us and protect us.

² No one wey live for our land go ever complain of sickness again, and all sin go be forgiven.
