Isaiah 31

¹ Those wey go meet Egypt for help don enter trouble! Dem dey rely on great strength of Egypt military- horse, chariot, and soldiers. But dem no rely on the LORD, the holy God of Israel, or ask am for help.

² He know wetin he dey do! He dey send disaster. He dey carry out him threat to punish evil people and those wey dey protect them.

³ Egyptians no be gods- na human dem be. Their horses no be supernatural. When God act, strong nation go fall, and weak nation wey e help go fall. Both of them go destroy.

⁴ God tell me say, “No matter how shepherd dey shout, dem no fit pursue lion commot from animal wey e don kill; for same way, nothing fit keep me, the LORD Almighty, say make I no protect Mount Zion.

⁵ Just as bird dey hang on top hin nest to protect hin pikin, naso I, the LORD Amighty, go protect Jerusalem and defend am.”

⁶ God talk say, “People of Israel, una don sin against me and go against me. But now, make una come back to me!

⁷ A time dey come when all of una go throway the sinful idols wey una make out of silver and gold.

⁸ Na war go destroy Assyria, no be human power. The Assyrians go run from battle, and their young men go turn to slave.

⁹ Their emperor go run away in fear, and fear go catch the officers so tey dem go even abandon their battle flags.” God don talk= god wey Jerusalem dey worship and wey fire dey burn there for sacrifice.
