Genesis 39

¹ When the Ishmaelite take Joseph go Egypt, dem sell am to Potiphar who be officer for Egypt. Potiphar na the captain of Pharaoh gaurds.

² God come dey with Joseph, naso he dey succeed for everything wey he do as he dey serve for the house of him Egyptian master.

³ Potiphar come realise say God dey with Joseph and he dey give him success for everything wey he dey do.

⁴ He con make Potiphar dey happy with Joseph and he make Joseph him personal servant. He come put him in charge of the house and everything wey he get.

⁵ From the day wey dem put Joseph in charge of him master house and properties, God come begin dey bless Potiphar house because of Joseph. Everything for him house dey go smoothly ad him crops and animals dey increase.

⁶ Potiphar come say make Joseph dey take care of everything and the only thing wey concern him na the food wey him dey chop. Joseph get good body and him dey look good.

⁷ After some time, him master wife begin to dey desire him and she ask him say make he come sleep with her.

⁸ He come refuse and he tell am say, see, my master no dey concerned with everything wey dey happen for the house because I dey here, he don put me in charge of everything wey him get,

⁹ I get the same authority wey him get for this house, and he no dey keep anything from me except you. How I go come do this kind terrible thing and sin against God.

¹⁰ She begin dey ask Joseph day after day but him no gree to sleep with her.

¹¹ One day, Joseph come go inside the house to do him work and no house servant dey there,

¹² she come grab him by him robe and she say come sleep with me, but him escape and run outside and he leave him cloth for her hand.

¹³ When she see say he don leave him robe and he don run comot for the house,

¹⁴ she come call her house servant and say this Hebrew wey my husband bring come house dey insult me, he enter my room and try rape me but I shout as I fit shout,

¹⁵ when he hear as I dey shout, he come run go outside and he leave him cloth by my side.

¹⁶ She come keep him robe until Joseph master come home.

¹⁷ She come tell the same story, that Hebrew slave wey you bring, come inside my room and he dey insult me,

¹⁸ but when I shout, he run and he leave him cloth beside me.

¹⁹ Joseph master come vex and he say,

²⁰ make them arrest Joseph make them put am for prison wey them dey put prisoners wey belong to king and na there he dey.

²¹ But God dey with Joseph and he bless him so that the jailer go like him.

²² He come put Joseph in charge of other prisoners and he say na him go dey responsible for everything wey happen for inside the prison.

²³ The jailer no come need to dey look after anything again as Joseph don dey do him work because God dey with Joseph and he make him dey successful for everything wey him dey do.
