¹ But Rachel never born any pikin for Jacob, and she con dey jealous of her sister and she tell Jacob say, "Give me children or I go die."

² Jacob con vex with Rachel and him say, "I no fit take place of God, na him be the one wey no allow you get children."

³ She con say, "Na my slave Bilhah be this; sleep with her, so that she go fit get child for me. This way I go become mother through her."

⁴ Na so she give Bilhah to her husband and he make love with her.

⁵ Bilhah get belle and she born a son for Jacob.

⁶ Rachel say, "God don show me favor. He don hear my prayer and he don give a son."; na so she name him Dan.

⁷ Bilhah con get belle again and she born second son for Jacob.

⁸ Rachel con say, "I don fight a big fight with my sister, but I don win"; na so she name him Naphtali.

⁹ When Leah notice say she no fit get belle again, she con give her slave Zilpah as wife to Jacob.

¹⁰ Zilpah con born another son for Jacob and

¹¹ Leah say, "I don get luck," na so she name him Gad.

¹² Zilpah born another son for Jacob, and

¹³ Leah say, "I dey happy, now woman go dey call me happy"; na so she name him Asher.

¹⁴ When he done reach time wey dem dey harvest wheat, Reuben go inside field and he find mandrakes, him con bring am to him mother Leah. Rachel tell Leah say, "Abeg give me part of your son mandrakes."

¹⁵ Leah answer say, "He never do you as you don take my husband from me? Now you dey even try to take my son mandrakes from me." Rachel con say, "If you fit give me your son mandrakes, den you fit sleep with Jacob tonight."

¹⁶ For evening wen Jacob come from field, Leah con go meet him and she say, "You go sleep with me tonight, because I don pay for you with my son mandrakes." Na so he make love with her that night.

¹⁷ God con answer Leah prayer, she get belle and she born Jacob fifth son.

¹⁸ Leah say, "God don give me my reward because I give my slave to my husband"; na so she name her son Issachar.

¹⁹ Leah con get belle again and she born another son she say, "God don give me fine gift. Now my husband go accept me because I don born six son for him"; naso she named him Zebulun.

²⁵ After dem born Joseph, Jacob tell Laban say, "Allow me make I go, so that I fit go back home, allow me make I take my wives and children, because I don work for them as I dey serve you, you know how hard I don work for you"

³¹ Jacob con reply say, "no give me anything, just do this one thing for me and I go continue to dey take care of your animals.

³² Make I go through all your animal today and remove all sheep and goat wey get spot for body including all the black sheep, na the reward wey I want from you be that.

³³ For future you go know whether I dey honest, when you con check my reward if I get any goat wey no get spot or any sheep wey no be black you go know say I don steal from you.

³⁴ Laban con answer say, "I don agree we go do as you don suggest."

³⁵ But that day Laban remove the male goat wey get line and spot and the female wey get spot or wey get white for body; he con remove all the black sheep, he con put him son to dey watch them

³⁶ and he take dem three day journey from where Jacob dey

³⁷ But Jacob take care of Laban animal wey remain. Jacob con take fresh branches of poplar, almond, and plane trees and he peel off the bark and he make white strip on them.

³⁸ He con put this peel branches for the place wey their animal dey con drink because na there dem dey mate.

³⁹ When dem mate for the front of this branches, dem dey give birth to young one wey get spot for body.

⁴⁰ Jacob con separate the lamb from Laban animal and when mating time reach, he con turn the animal to face Laban animal wey get spot for body or the one wey dey black. Na how he take build him own flock be this, instead make he dey increase Laban own.

⁴¹ Anytime wey the strong female wan mate, Jacob go put the tree branches for their front, dem go con mate for the front of the branches.

⁴² But he no do dis thing with the one wey dey weak. So na the lamb wey dey weak belong to Laban and the one wey dey strong na him own

⁴³ Because of this Jacob con become very rich with plenty sheep and goat, female and male servant, and many camels and donkeys.
