Genesis 19

¹ When two angels come Sodom that evening, Lot dey sit by the city gate. As he see them, he stand and go meet them. He bow before them

² and he say, "My Lord I dey here to serve you. Abeg come to my house, wash your feet and spend the night and you fit get up for morning dey go your way.

³ Dem reply say, "No, we go spend night out here for city square."

¹⁴ But Lot insist and them finally follow him go home. Lot come order him servant to bake bread and prepare good food for the guests. When the food don ready, dem eat am.

⁵ Before dem go sleep, Sodom men come surround the house, all men wey dey the city both young and old, dem dey there. Them begin to shout to Lot say, "Where the men wey come spend night with you? Bring them out so that we fit have sex with them."

⁶ Naso Lot come out to follow them talk and he shot door behind himself.

⁷ He begin dey beg them say "Abeg my brothers, no do that kind wicked thing!

⁸ See I get two virgin daughters. Make I bring them out for una, and una fit do anything una want with them. But abeg make una leave this men alone, dem be my guests and dem dey under my protection.

⁹ But dem say, "Get out of our way you foreigner! Who you be to dey tell us wetin to do? Or we go treat you bad pass them." Dem push Lot go back and dem want brake door.

¹⁰ But the two angels wey dey inside pull Lot back and dem shot door.

¹¹ Dem come make all the men wey dey outside blind, so that them no go fit find the door.

¹² The angels come tell Lot say, "If you get anyone here, sons, daughters, sons-in-law or any other family member wey dey live inside city, get them out of here,

¹³ because we go destroy this place. God don hear terrible things about this place and He don send us to destroy Sodom.

¹⁴ Naso Lot go meet the men wey him daughters wan marry and he tell them say hurry up and get out of here, God wan destroy this place. But dem think say na joke.

¹⁵ For morning, the angels begin dey hurry Lot and dem say take your wife and daughter and get out so that you no go lose your life when we begin to destroy the city.

¹⁶ When Lot dey delay, God come get mercy on him, naso the angel take him, him wife and him two daughters by hand and them lead them out of the city.

¹⁷ One of the angels come say, "Run for your life, no look back and no stop for the valley, run go the hill so that you no go die."

¹⁸ But Lot answer say, "Abeg no make us do that sir.

¹⁹ You don do me a great favor and save my life. But the hills too far, the disaster go overtake me and I go die before i get there.

²⁰ You See that little town? E dey near. Allow me go there, you see say na small place and I go dey safe."

²¹ He come answer, "Alright, I no go destroy that town.

²² Run! I no fit do anything until una reach there. Because Lot call am small, dem come name the town Zoar.

²³ The sun dey rise when Lot reach Zoar.

²⁴ Suddenly, God begin dey rain burning Sulphur on Sodom and Gomorrah

²⁵ and He destroy am with people wey dey there and everything wey grow on the Land.

²⁶ But Lot wife come look back and she turn to salt.

²⁷ For early morning, Abraham rush go the place where he stand for the presence of God.

²⁸ He begin dey look Sodom and Gomorrah and the whole valley and he see as smoke dey rise from the land, like smoke from big fire.

²⁹ But when God come destroy the city wey Lot dey live, He keep Abraham for mind and He allow Lot escape safely.

³⁰ Because Lot dey fear to stay for Zoar, him and him two daughters go up the hills and dem live inside one cave.

³¹ The elder daughter come tell her sister, "Our father dey become old and no man dey the world to marry us so that we go get children.

³² Come make we make our father drunk so that we go sleep with him and get children through him."

³³ That night dem come give him wine to drink, and the elder daughter come have sex with him. But he don high and he no know anything about am.

³⁴ The next day, the elder daughter come tell her sister, "I sleep with am last night; make we make him drunk again tonight so that you go sleep with him and each of us go get child by our father.

³⁵ Naso dem make him drunk that night, the younger daughter come have sex with him. And again him dey drunk and he no know anything about am.

³⁶ This way, the two daughters of Lot come get belle by their own father.

³⁷ The elder daughter get a son and she name am Moab, na him be the ancestor of the present day Moabites.

³⁸ The younger daughter too get a son and she name am Benammi. Na him be the ancestor of the Ammonites nowadays.
