Genesis 12

¹ God don tell Abram say, "leave your family, your country and your father family to a land wey I go show you.

² I go make you a great nation, I go bless you and make you famous and you go be blessings to others.

³ I go bless people wey bless you and curse those people wey do you bad. All family wey dey on top earth go dey blessed through you."

⁴ Naso Abram leave as God don tell am, and Lot follow him. Abram na 75 years when he live Haran.

⁵ He take him wife Sarai, him nephew Lot and all him wealth. All him animal and everybody wey dey live with am for Haran and dem begin dey go Canaan land. When them reach Canaan, 6Abram travel through the land reach Shechem, na there him build tent beside oak of Morch. That time Canaanite dey live for the area.

⁷ God come appear to Abram and He say, "I go give this land to your descendants."

⁸ Abram come build altar there and he dedicate am to God. After that Abram come travel south, and set camp for hill country wey get Bethel to west and Ai to east. Na there he build another altar and dedicate am to God.

⁹ Abram come continue to travel south by stages towards Negel.

¹⁰ But famine dey Canaan land, na him make Abram travel south of Egypt.

¹¹ As he dey near Egypt border, Abram tell him wife, "see, you be very beautiful woman.

¹² When Egyptians see you, dem go say na him wife be this make we kill am and take him wife.

¹³ Abeg tell them you be my sister. Dem go spare my life and treat me well because dem get interest in you.

¹⁴ For sure, when Abram reach Egypt, every one notice Sarai beauty.

¹⁵ When palace officials see her, dem begin dey praise her for Pharaoh and dem take Sarai enter palace.

¹⁶ Pharaoh come give Abram plenty gifts because of her. Sheep, goat, cattle male and female, female donkey, male and female servants, and Camel.

¹⁷ But God con send terrible plague to Pharaoh and him family because of Sarai.

¹⁸ Naso Pharaoh call on Abram and accuse am say "Wetin you don do to me? Why you no tell me say she be your wife?

¹⁹ Why you tell me say she be your sister and you allow me marry her? Na your wife be this, take her and get out of here.

²⁰ Pharaoh command him men to escort them, and he send Abram out of the country with him wife and everything wey belong to him.
