Ezra 1

¹ In the first year wey Cyrus of Persia be emperor, God tell Cyrus to make announcement. Dem write am down, and Cyrus command say make dem read am out all through him kingdom wey follow and make he send am out in letter and read am loud everywhere for him empire:

² "Na the command of Cyrus, emperor of Persia be this. The LORD, God of Heaven, don make me ruler over the whole world and he don choose me to build a temple for him in Jerusalem for Judah.

³ God go dey with all of una wey be him people. Make una go Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple of the LORD, the God of Israel, the God wey dem dey worship for Jerusalem.

⁴ If any of him people for foreign land need help to return, make their neighbors give them this help. Make dem give them silver and gold, animals and other things, and offerings wey dem go present to God for the Temple of Jerusalem."

⁵ Then the heads of the clans of tribe of Judah and Benjamin, the priests and Levites, and everyone else wey God don move their hearts don ready to go and rebuild the Temple of God for Jerusalem."

⁶ All their neighbors help them by giving them plenty things: silver tools, gold, supplies, animals, other valuables, and offerings for the Temple.

⁷ Cyrus don give back the bowls and cups to them wey King Nebuchadnezzar don take from the Temple for Jerusalem and wey he don put for the temple of him gods.

⁸ He give them to Mithredath, wey be chief of the royal treasury, wey give account of them to Sheshbazzar, the governor of Judah,

⁹ Dem be: 30 gold bowls for offerings, 1,000 silvers bowls for offerings, na 29 be other bowls,

¹⁰ Small bowls na 30, small silvers bowls na 410, other tools na 1,000

¹¹ Everything na 5,400 of gold and silver bowls and other articles wey Sheshbazzar take with him when him and other foreigners dey go from Babylon to Jerusalem.
