Ezekiel 9

¹ Then I hear God shout say, "Come here, you men wey go dey in charge of punishing the city. Make una bring una weapon."

² Naso I see six men dey come through north gate of the Temple, each of them dey carry weapon. Seventh man wey dey wear linen robe dey with dem and he dey carry things wey he go use write. Dem go inside the Temple and dem stand beside the bronze alter.

³ Then the precious light of the presence of God of Israel rise up from the creature, where e dey before, and move go entrance of the Temple. God tell the man wey dey wear linen say,

⁴ "Go through the whole city of Jerusalem and put mark on forehead of everyone wey dey for trouble and sad because of things of shame wey dem don do for the city".

⁶ I hear God tell the other men say, "Follow him inside the city and kill. No pity anyone; no show them mercy. Kill old men, young men, young women, mothers, and children. But no touch anyone wey get mark for him forehead. Start here from my Temple here." Naso dem begin with the elders wey dey stand there at the temple.

⁷ God tell them say, "Spoil the temple. Fill the courtyard with dead body. Begin dey work!" Naso dem begin dey kill people for the city.

⁸ I dey there alone as dem still dey kill. I bow down for ground and cry, "Almighty God, naso you dey vex with Jerusalem so tey you go kill; everybody wey remain for Israel?"

⁹ God answer say, people of Israel and Judah don do terrible things. Dem don kill people all over the land and dem don fill Jerusalem with crime. Dem talk say I, the LORD, don abandon their country and say I no dey see them.

¹⁰ But I no go pity them; I go do to them wetin dem don do to others."

¹¹ Then the man wey dey wear linen come report to God say. "I don do wetin you say make I do."
