Exodus 34

¹ God tell Moses say, "Cut two stone tablets make e be like the first ones, and I go write the words wey I don write on the first tablets wey you break on them.

² Get ready tomorrow morning, and come meet me on top Mount Sinai.

³ Make nobody follow you come; make I no see anyone for anywhere on top the mountain; and make no sheep or cattle dey for the foot of the mountain."

⁴ Naso Moses cut two stone tablets, and early next morning he carry am go Mount Sinai, as God don command him.

⁵ God come down in cloud, stand with am for there, and he talk him holy name, the LORD.

⁶ God come pass for him front and begin dey talk say, "I, the LORD, be God wey dey full of compassion and pity, wey no dey vex easily and wey dey show great love and faithfulness.

⁷ I dey keep my promise for thousand generation and forgive evil and sin; but I no go fail to punish children and grandchildren take reach third and fourth generation for their parent sins.

⁸ Moses quickly bow down to ground and worship.

⁹ He say, "God, if you really dey pleased with me, I ask you say make you go with us. These people dey stubborn, but forgive our evil and sin, and make you accept us as your own people."

¹⁰ God come tell Moses say, "I go make covenant with people of Israel now. For their presence I go do great things wey never happen before for anywhere on top earth among any nation. All the people go see the kind great things wey, I, the LORD, fit do, because I go do awesome thing for una. `

¹¹ Make una obey the laws wey I dey give una today. I go drive out Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, as una dey go.

¹² No make any agreement or covenant with the people of country wey you dey go, because e fit be terrible trap for you.

¹³ Make una dey tear down their altars, destroy their sacred pillars, and cut down the symbols of their goddess Asherah.

¹⁴ Make una no worship any other god, because I, the LORD, no dey give rival chance.

¹⁵ No make any covenant with people of the country, because when dem worship their pagan gods and sacrifice to them, dem go invite you make you join them, and the food wey dem offer to their gods go tempt you.

¹⁶ Una sons fit go marry the foreign women wey go make them unfaithful to me and to dey worship their pagan gods.

¹⁷ No make and worship gods of metal.

¹⁸ Make una keep the Festival of Unleavened Bread. As I don command una, make una no eat bread wey get yeast for seven days for month of Abib, because na that month una leave Egypt.

¹⁹ Every firstborn son and firstborn male house animal na my own,

²⁰ but una go buy back firstborn donkey with a lamb. If una no buy am back, break the neck. Make una buy back every firstborn son. Make una no come before me without offering.

²¹ Una get six days to dey work, but make una rest for seventh day, even for planting and harvesting time.

²² Make una keep Harvest Festival when una begin dey harvest first crop of una wheat, and keep Festival of Shelter for season when una dey gather una fruit.

²³ For three times a year all una men go come worship me, the LORD, God of Israel.

²⁴ After I don drive out the nations wey dey before una and I don extend una territory, no one go try conquer una country during the three festival.

²⁵ Make una no offer bread wey dem make with yeast when una sacrifice animal to me. No keep any part of the animal wey una kill for Passover Festival till following morning.

²⁶ Make una dey bring the first corn wey una harvest to God every year. Make una no cook young sheep or goat wey still suck breast from the mama."

²⁷ God come tell Moses say, "Write down these words, because na on the basis of these words I dey make covenant with you and with Israel."

²⁸ Moses stay there for forty days and night, and e no eat anything. He write words of covenant on the tablets " the Ten Commandments.

²⁹ When Moses dey go down from Mount Sinai with the Ten commandments, him face dey shine because he don dey speak with the LORD; but he no know.

³⁰ Aaron and the people come look Moses and see say him face dey shine, and dem dey fear to near him.

³¹ But Moses call them, Aaron and all the leaders come go meet him, and Moses follow them talk.

³² After that, all people of Israel come gather round am, and Moses give them all the laws wey God don give him for Mount Sinai.

³³ When Moses finish to dey follow them talk, he cover him face with veil.

³⁴ Anytime Moses go inside Tabernacle to follow God talk, he dey take off the veil. When he come out, he go tell people of Israel wetin God don command him to say,

³⁵ and dem go see say him face dey shine. Then he go put the veil back till next time he go speak with God.
