Exodus 23

¹ No spread fake rumors, and no help person wey dey guilty give fake evidence.

² No dey join majority when dem do wrong or when dem give fake evidence wey no allow justice to reign.

³ No show partiality to person wey dey trial period.

⁴ if una see una enemy cow or donkey wey don run loose, take am back to him.

⁵ if him donkey don fall under load, help him get the donkey to stand again; no walk off like say una no see am.

⁶ No dey deny justice to poor person when dem appear for court.

⁷ No make false accusation, and no kill innocent person, because I go condemn any person wey do that kind evil thing.

⁸ No dey collect bribe, because bribe dey make person blind to wetin dey right and e dey spoil matter for person wey dey innocent.

⁹ No dey treat foreigner bad; una know how e dey be, because una be foreigners for Egypt.

¹⁰ Make una dey sow seed and dey harvest for una field for six years.

¹¹ But allow am rest for seventh year, and no harvest anything wey grow on am. The poor fit eat wetin grow for there, and wild animals fit eat wetin remain. Do same thing for una vineyards and una olive trees.

¹² Make una work for six days, but no dey work on seventh day, so that una slaves and foreigners wey dey work for una and una animals fit rest.

¹³ Make una dey hear everything wey I, the LORD don tell una. No dey pray to other gods; no dey even mention their names.

¹⁴ Make una dey celebrate three festivals in a year to honor me.

¹⁵ For Abib month, the month wey una leave Egypt, dey celebrate festival of Unleavened Bread for the way wey I don command una. No dey eat bread wey dem make with yeast for seven days of the festival. No dey come worship me without offering.

¹⁶ Dey celebrate Harvest Festival when una begin dey harvest una crops. Dey celebrate Festival of Shelter for autumn, when una gather fruits from una vineyard and orchards.

¹⁷ Every year for these festivals, all una men must come worship me , the LORD una God.

¹⁸ No dey offer bread wey dem make with yeast when una sacrifice animal to me. Make una no leave fat of animals wey una use sacrifice to me till next morning.

¹⁹ Make una dey bring una first corn harvest to house of the LORD una God each year. No dey cook young sheep with the mother milk.

²⁰ I go send angel for una front to protect una as una dey travel and to take una to a place wey I don prepare.

²¹ Make una pay attention and dey obey him. No rebel against him, because na me send him, and he no go pardon rebellion.

²² But if una obey him and do everything wey I don command, I go fight all una enemy.

²³ My angel go dey go ahead of una and take una enter land of Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites, and Jebusites, and I go destroy them.

²⁴ No bow down to their gods or worship them, and no follow their religious practice. Destroy their gods and break down their sacred stone pillar.

²⁵ if una worship me, the LORD una God, I go bless una with food and water and take una sickness away.

²⁶ For una land, no woman go get miscarriage or dey without children. I go give una long live.

²⁷ I go make people wey dey oppose una dey fear me; I go bring confusion to people wey una dey fight against, and I go make una enemies turn and run from una.

²⁸ I go throw una enemies for panic; I go drive out Hivites, Canaanites, and Hittites as una dey go forward.

²⁹ I no go drive them out within one year; if I do am, the land no go get anything again, and wild animals go too much for una.

³⁰ Instead, I go drive them out little by little, until una don dey enough to possess the land.

³¹ I go make una land borders extend from Gulf of Aqaba to the Mediterranean Sea and from the desert take reach Euphrates River; I go give una power over the people wey dey live for the land, and una go drive them out as una dey advance.

³² Make una no make any agreement with them or their gods.

³³ Make una no allow the people live for una country; if una do, dem go make una sin against me. If una worship their gods, na trap e go be for una.
