Ecclesiastes 7
A good name better pass expensive perfume; and the day wey you die better pass the day wey dem born you.
Na better thing to go home where dem dey mourn dey pass to dey go where dem dey do party, because make the people wey dey alive dey remind themselves say death dey wait for all of us.
Sorrow better pass laugh, e fit make your face sad, but e dey increase your understanding.
Person wey dey always think about happiness na fool. A wise person dey think about death.
E better make wise people dey condemn you pass make stupid people dey praise you.
When fool laugh, e go be like thorn wey crack for fire. E no mean anything.
You fit dey wise, but if you con cheat someone, you dey act like a fool. If you con take bribe, you don spoil your character.
The end of anything better pass hin beginning. patience better pass pride
Make una dey control una temper; na foolishness e be to dey keep hatred.
Make una no ask say, "Oh, why things dey much better for old days?" No be wise question.
Everyone wey dey live suppose get sense; na good thing like say person dey receive inheritance
And e go give you plenty security just as money fit give you. Wisdom dey keep you save - na the thing wey make sense about knowledge be this.
Make una think about things wey God don do. How person fit straight wetin God don bend?
Make una dey happy when things dey go well for una, and make una remember when trouble don come say: na God dey send both happiness and trouble; una never know wetin go happen next.
My life don dey useless, but I don see everything in am. Some good people fit die and others continue to dey live, even though dem be evil.
So make una no dey too good or too wise - why una go kill unaself?
But make una no dey too wicked or too foolish, - why una go die before una time?
Make una stay away from both the opposites. If una fear God, una go succeed anyway.
Wisdom dey do more for person pass wetin ten rulers fit do for a city.
No one on earth dey do right thing every time and no dey make mistake.
Make una no pay attention to everything wey people dey say - una fit hear una servant dey insult una,
And una know unaself say una don also insult other people for plenty times.
I con use my wisdom test all this. I make up my mind to dey wise, but e dey far from me.
How anyone fit discover wetin life mean? E dey too deep for us, e dey too hard to understand.
But I con commit myself to knowledge and study; I make up my mind to find wisdom and answer to my questions, and to learn how wicked and foolish stupidity be.
I find something wey bitter pass death - the woman wey be like trap. The love wey she give you go catch you like net; and her arms around you go hold you like chain. Man wey please God fit escape, but she go catch the sinners.
The preacher talk say, yes, I don find this out little by little as I dey look for answers.
I don look for other answer, but I no find one. I find one man in a thousand wey I fit respect, but no woman.
Na everything wey I don learn be this: God don make us plain and simple, but we don make ourselves more difficult.
