Ecclesiastes 7 - Listen Online
Read Ecclesiastes 7
1 ORUKỌ rere dara jù ororo ikunra; ati ọjọ ikú jù ọjọ ibi enia lọ.
1 A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.
2 O dara lati lọ si ile ọ̀fọ jù ati lọ si ile àse: nitoripe eyi li opin gbogbo enia; alãye yio si pa a mọ́ li aiya rẹ̀.
2 It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.
3 Ibinujẹ san jù ẹrín: nitoripe nipa ifaro oju a si mu aiya san.
3 Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.
4 Aiya ọlọgbọ́n mbẹ ni ile ọ̀fọ; ṣugbọn aiya aṣiwère ni ile iré.
4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.
5 O san lati gbọ́ ibawi ọlọgbọ́n jù ki enia ki o fetisi orin aṣiwère.
5 It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.
6 Nitoripe bi itapàpa ẹgún labẹ ìkoko, bẹ̃li ẹrín aṣiwère: asan li eyi pẹlu.
6 For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity.
7 Nitõtọ inilara mu ọlọgbọ́n enia sinwin; ọrẹ a si ba aiya jẹ.
7 Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad; and a gift destroyeth the heart.
8 Opin nkan san jù ipilẹṣẹ rẹ̀ lọ: ati onisuru ọkàn jù ọlọkàn igberaga.
8 Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
9 Máṣe yara li ọkàn rẹ lati binu, nitoripe ibinu simi li aiya aṣiwère.
9 Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.
10 Iwọ máṣe wipe, nitori kili ọjọ iṣaju ṣe san jù wọnyi lọ? nitoripe iwọ kò fi ọgbọ́n bere niti eyi.
10 Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not inquire wisely concerning this.
11 Ọgbọ́n dara gẹgẹ bi iní, ati nipasẹ rẹ̀ ère wà fun awọn ti nri õrùn.
11 Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun.
12 Nitoripe ãbò li ọgbọ́n, ani bi owo ti jẹ́ abò: ṣugbọn ère ìmọ ni pe, ọgbọ́n fi ìye fun awọn ti o ni i.
12 For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.
13 Wò iṣẹ Ọlọrun: nitoripe, tali o le mu eyini tọ́ ti on ṣe ni wiwọ?
13 Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?
14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.
15 Ohun gbogbo ni mo ri li ọjọ asan mi: olõtọ enia wà ti o ṣegbé ninu ododo rẹ̀, ati enia buburu wà ti ọjọ rẹ̀ pẹ ninu ìwa buburu rẹ̀.
15 All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness.
16 Iwọ máṣe ododo aṣeleke; bẹ̃ni ki iwọ ki o máṣe fi ara rẹ ṣe ọlọgbọ́n aṣeleke: nitori kini iwọ o ṣe run ara rẹ?
16 Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself?
17 Iwọ máṣe buburu aṣeleke, bẹ̃ni ki iwọ ki o má ṣiwère; nitori kini iwọ o ṣe kú ki ọjọ rẹ ki o to pe?
17 Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?
18 O dara ki iwọ ki o dì eyi mu; pẹlupẹlu iwọ máṣe yọ ọwọ rẹ kuro ninu eyi: nitori ẹniti o bẹ̀ru Ọlọrun ni yio yọ kuro ninu rẹ̀ gbogbo.
18 It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all.
19 Ọgbọ́n mu ọlọgbọ́n lara le jù enia alagbara mẹwa lọ ti o wà ni ilu.
19 Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city.
20 Nitoriti kò si olõtọ enia lori ilẹ, ti nṣe rere ti kò si dẹṣẹ.
20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
21 Pẹlupẹlu máṣe fiyesi gbogbo ọ̀rọ ti a nsọ; ki iwọ ki o má ba gbọ́ ki iranṣẹ rẹ ki o bu ọ.
21 Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee:
22 Nitoripe nigba pupọ pẹlu li aiya rẹ mọ̀ pe iwọ tikalarẹ pẹlu ti bu awọn ẹlomiran.
22 For oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others.
23 Idi gbogbo wọnyi ni mo fi ọgbọ́n wá; mo ni, emi o gbọ́n: ṣugbọn ọ̀na rẹ̀ jin si mi.
23 All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me.
24 Eyi ti o jinna, ti o si jinlẹ gidigidi, tali o le wá a ri?
24 That which is far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it out?
25 Mo fi aiya mi si i lati mọ̀, on ati wadi, on ati ṣe afẹri ọgbọ́n ati oye, on ati mọ̀ ìwa buburu wère, ani ti wère ati ti isinwin:
25 I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness:
26 Mo si ri ohun ti o korò jù ikú lọ, ani obinrin ti aiya rẹ̀ iṣe idẹkun ati àwọn, ati ọwọ rẹ̀ bi ọbára: ẹnikẹni ti inu Ọlọrun dùn si yio bọ lọwọ rẹ̀; ṣugbọn ẹlẹṣẹ li a o ti ọwọ rẹ̀ mu.
26 And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.
27 Kiyesi i, eyi ni mo ri, bẹ̃li oniwasu wi, ni wiwadi rẹ̀ li ọkọkan lati ri oye.
27 Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the account:
28 Ti ọkàn mi nwakiri sibẹ, ṣugbọn emi kò ri: ọkunrin kanṣoṣo ninu ẹgbẹrun ni mo ri; ṣugbọn obinrin kan ninu gbogbo awọn wọnni, emi kò ri.
28 Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.
29 Kiyesi i, eyi nikanṣoṣo ni mo ri, pe, Ọlọrun ti da enia ni iduroṣinṣin; ṣugbọn nwọn ti ṣe afẹri ihumọkihumọ.
29 Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.
