Ecclesiastes 5

¹ Make una dey careful to dey go Temple. E better make person go learn for there pass to go there to offer sacrifice as foolish people dey do, people wey no know right from wrong.

⁴ So when una make promise to God, make una keep am fast. He no get use for a fool. Make una do wetin una don promise to do.

⁷ No matter how much una dream, how much useless work una do, or how much una talk, una must still dey respect God.

¹³ Na the terrible things wey I don see for this world be this: people dey save their money for time dem fit need am,

¹⁴ And dem con lose everything for business wey no get luck and end up with nothing wey dem go pass to their children.

¹⁵ Na as we don enter this world we go leave am - with nothing. After all our work for there, we no fit take anything with us.

¹⁶ E no dey right! We go just as we don come. We dey labour, dey try to dey catch wind, and wetin we dey get?

¹⁷ We need to dey live our lives in darkness and sorrow, worry, anger and sickness.

¹⁸ Na wetin I find out be this: the best thing wey anybody fit do na to chop and drink and enjoy wetin he don work for during the short time wey God don give am; na wetin go happen to man be this.

¹⁹ If God don give man wealth and property and he don allow him enjoy them, make he dey grateful and enjoy wetin he don work for. Na gift from God.

²⁰ Since God don allow him to dey happy, he no go worry too much about how short life go be.
