Deuteronomy 7

¹ People of Israel, the LORD una God go help una take the land of Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. These seven nations get plenty people and strong pass Israel, but una attack them,

² God go force them out of the land. Make una destroy them without mercy. No make peace with them,

³ and no allow una sons and daughters marry any of them.

⁴ If una do, those people go lead una descendants go worship other gods and turn their back on the LORD. That go make him vex, and he go destroy Israel.

⁵ So when una destroy these nations, make una tear down the altar where dem dey worship their gods. Break their sacred stone, cut down the poles wey dem dey use worship the goddess Asherah, and throway their idols inside fire.

⁶ People of Israel, na una be the people wey the LORD una God choose. Many nations dey on top earth, but he choose only Israel to be him own.

⁷ Na una weak pass out of all nations,

⁸ but God choose una because he love una and because he don make promise to una ancestors. And with him mighty hand, he rescue una from the king of Egypt, who don make una him slaves.

⁹ Una know say the LORD una God na the only true God. So, make una love him and obey him commands, and he go keep him agreement with una and una descendants for a thousand generations.

¹⁰ But if una turn against God, he go quickly destroy una.

¹¹ Make una dey sure say una obey him laws and commands I dey give una today.

¹² If una obey these laws, the LORD una God go dey loyal and keep the agreement he make with una, just as he promise our ancestors.

¹³ God go love una and bless una by giving una plenty pikin and plenty food, wine, and olive oil. Una cattle go get plenty calves, and una sheep go get plenty lambs.

¹⁴ God go bless una pass other nation "una family go grow and una animal go increase.

¹⁵ Una no go suffer same kind of horrible disease wey una get for Egypt again. Una go dey strong, but God go make una enemies suffer from those disease.

¹⁶ When God help una defeat una enemies, una must destroy without pity! And make una no worship their gods.

¹⁷ Una fit dey think say, "How we go fit destroy these nations? Dem dey powerful pass us."

¹⁸ But make una no worry! Just remember wetin the LORD una God do to Egypt and the king.

¹⁹ Una see how God use great power to work great miracles and bring una out of Egypt. And he go work miracle for una again when una face these enemies una fear so much.

²⁰ Some of them fit try hide from una to survive, but God go bring fear on them, and dem go soon die.

²¹ So make una no fear them when una meet them for battle. The LORD una God na great and fearful God, and he go fight for una side.

²² As una attack these nations, God go force them out small small. He no go allow una destroy all of them once " if he do, enough people no go dey to keep down number of wild animals.

²⁴ But when una attack una enemies, God go bring fear on them, and una go destroy them easily. Una go defeat their kings one after another until dem finish, and no one go remember say dem exist.

²⁵ After una destroy a nation, burn their idols. No go try say una wan take the silver or gold on top the idol. Even the metal wey dey on top the idol dey irritate the LORD,

²⁶ so make una destroy am. If una bring am home with una, una and una family go perish. Make una hate these idols, because dem dey under curse from God.
