Deuteronomy 25

¹ When two people get argument, make dem go court. The judge go decide who dey right or wrong.

² If the judge decide say make dem beat person with whip, the judge must make the person lie face down. Someone go beat the person wey dey guilty as the judge dey watch.

³ Na forty lashes be the highest wey una fit give, because if e pass that, other Israelites fit think say the person life no dey important to una.

⁴ When una dey use animal work inside grain, make una no cover the mouth to stop am from eating.

⁶ If two brothers dey live together for same property, when one of them die and he no get a son to continue dey carry him name. If e be like that, make him widow no marry anyone outside the family. Make she marry her late husband brother, and their first son go be legal son of the dead man.

⁷ But if the brother no gree marry the widow. Make she go to meeting of the town leaders for town gate and say, "My husband don die and he no get son to carry on him name. And my husband brother no gree marry me so that I fit get son."

⁸ The leaders go call that brother wey dey alive to town gate and try advise him make he marry her,

⁹ she must go to him as the leaders dey watch. She go pull off one of him sandals and spit for him face, and talk say, "Na that be the thing wey dey happen to a man wey no help give descendant for him dead brother."

¹⁰ From that time, people go know the man family as "family of the man wey dem remove him sandal."

¹¹ If two men dey fight, and the wife of one man try safe him husband by grabbing the other man private part,

¹² make una cut off her hand. Make una no get mercy.

¹⁴ Make una no try dey keep two sets of weights and measures to dey cheat people, one to dey get more when una dey buy, and one to dey give less when una dey sell.

¹⁵ If una dey measure things with honesty, the LORD una God go allow una enjoy long life for the land he dey give una.

¹⁶ But God no like anyone wey dey cheat or no dey honest.

¹⁷ People of Israel, shey una remember wetin Amalekites do to una after una come out of Egypt?

¹⁸ Una don tire, and dem follow una for back, dem attack those wey no fit keep up with others for back. E mean say Amalekites no get respect for God.

¹⁹ The LORD una God go help una take the land, and he go give una peace. But when that day come, una must wipe out Amalek completely so tey no one go remember say dem ever exist.
