1 BI gbolohùn-asọ̀ kan ba wà lãrin enia, ti nwọn si wá si ibi idajọ, ti nwọn si dajọ wọn; nigbana ni ki nwọn ki o fi are fun alare, ki nwọn ki o si fi ẹbi fun ẹlẹbi;

1 If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.

2 Yio si ṣe, bi ẹlẹbi na ba yẹ lati nà, ki onidajọ na ki o da a dọbalẹ, ki o si mu ki a nà a ni iye kan li oju on, gẹgẹ bi ìwabuburu rẹ̀.

2 And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.

3 Ogoji paṣan ni ki a nà a, kò gbọdọ lé: nitoripe bi o ba lé, ti o ba si fi paṣan pupọ̀ nà a jù wọnyi lọ, njẹ arakunrin rẹ yio di gigàn li oju rẹ.

3 Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.

4 Máṣe di akọ-malu li ẹnu nigbati o ba npakà.

4 Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.

5 Bi awọn arakunrin ba ngbé pọ̀, ti ọkan ninu wọn ba si kú, ti kò si lí ọmọkunrin, ki aya okú ki o máṣe ní alejò ara ode li ọkọ: arakunrin ọkọ rẹ ni ki o wọle tọ̀ ọ, ki o si ní i li aya, ki o si ṣe iṣẹ arakunrin ọkọ fun u.

5 If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her.

6 Yio si ṣe, akọ́bi ọmọ ti o bi ki o rọpò li orukọ arakunrin rẹ̀ ti o kú, ki orukọ rẹ̀ ki o má ba parẹ́ ni Israeli.

6 And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.

7 Bi ọkunrin na kò ba si fẹ́ lati mú aya arakunrin rẹ̀, njẹ ki aya arakunrin rẹ̀ ki o gòke lọ si ẹnubode tọ̀ awọn àgba lọ, ki o si wipe, Arakunrin ọkọ mi kọ̀ lati gbé orukọ arakunrin rẹ̀ ró ni Israeli, on kò fẹ́ ṣe iṣẹ arakunrin ọkọ mi.

7 And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother.

8 Nigbana ni awọn àgba ilu rẹ̀ yio pè e, nwọn a si sọ fun u: bi o ba si duro si i, ti o si wipe, Emi kò fẹ́ lati mú u;

8 Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;

9 Nigbana ni aya arakunrin rẹ̀ yio tọ̀ ọ wá niwaju awọn àgba na, on a si tú bàta rẹ̀ kuro li ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀, a si tutọ si i li oju; a si dahùn, a si wipe, Bayi ni ki a ma ṣe si ọkunrin na ti kò fẹ́ ró ile arakunrin rẹ̀.

9 Then shall his brother's wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother's house.

10 A o si ma pè orukọ rẹ̀ ni Israeli pe, Ile ẹniti a tú bàta rẹ̀.

10 And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.

11 Bi awọn ọkunrin ba mbá ara wọn jà, ti aya ọkan ba si sunmọtosi lati gbà ọkọ rẹ̀ lọwọ ẹniti o kọlù u, ti on si nawọ́ rẹ̀, ti o si di i mú li abẹ:

11 When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:

12 Nigbana ni ki iwọ ki o ke ọwọ́ rẹ̀ kuro, ki oju rẹ ki o máṣe ṣãnu fun u.

12 Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.

13 Iwọ kò gbọdọ ní onirũru ìwọn ninu àpo rẹ, nla ati kekere.

13 Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.

14 Iwọ kò gbọdọ ní onirũru òṣuwọn ninu ile rẹ, nla ati kekere.

14 Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.

15 Iwọn pipé ati dẽde ni ki iwọ ki o ní; òṣuwọn pipé ati dẽde ni ki iwọ ki o ní: ki ọjọ́ rẹ ki o le pẹ ni ilẹ ti OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ fi fun ọ.

15 But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

16 Nitoripe gbogbo ẹniti nṣe wọnyi, ati gbogbo ẹniti nṣe aiṣododo, irira ni si OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ.

16 For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.

17 Ranti ohun ti Amaleki ṣe si ọ li ọ̀na, nigbati ẹnyin nti ilẹ Egipti jade wá;

17 Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt;

18 Bi o ti pade rẹ li ọ̀na, ti o si kọlù awọn ti o kẹhin rẹ, ani gbogbo awọn ti o ṣe alailera lẹhin rẹ, nigbati ãrẹ mú ọ tán, ti agara si dá ọ; ti on kò si bẹ̀ru Ọlọrun.

18 How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God.

19 Nitorina yio si ṣe, nigbati OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ ba fun ọ ni isimi lọwọ gbogbo awọn ọtá rẹ yi ọ ká kiri, ni ilẹ na ti OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ fi fun ọ ni iní lati ní i, ki iwọ ki o si pa iranti Amaleki rẹ́ kuro labẹ ọrun; iwọ kò gbọdọ gbagbé.

19 Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.
