Amos 3

¹ People of Israel, make una hear this message wey God don talk about una, the nation wey he carry comot for Egypt:

² Out of all nations wey dey on top earth, na only una I don know and care for. Na wetin make una dey commit terrible sin be that, and that na why I go punish una for them.

³ Two people fit waka together except say dem gree?

⁴ Shey lion go dey cry for forest unless say e don see victim? Young lion fit dey cry for him house unless say e don catch something?

⁵ A bird dey enter trap unless say e see food inside am? If the trap close, e go catch the bird.

⁶ Shey war trumpet fit sound for city, make people no fear? Shey trouble fit hit city unless God send am?

⁷ Almighty God no dey do anything unless say he show him plan to him servants, the prophet.

⁸ When lion shout, who no go fear? When Almighty God speak, who no go talk him message?

⁹ Make una tell the people wey dey live for palace of Egypt and Ashdod: "Make una gather together for the hill wey surround Samaria and see great confusion and crime wey dem don commit for there."

¹⁰ God talk say, "These people fill their mansions with wetin dem take by crime and war. Dem no even sabi how to dey honest.

¹¹ God talk say, enemy go surround their land. Dem go break down their strong walls and carry things wey dem don hide for high towers."

¹² God talk say, "A lion fit attack a lamb and a shepherd fit try save the lamb. But the shepherd go only fit save part of the lamb. He fit pull two legs or a part of the ear from the lion mouth. Na for same way, most people of Israel no go dey save. Those wey dey live for Samaria go only save a corner from a bed, or small piece of cloth from a chair.

¹³ Almighty God talk say, hear now, make una warn the descendant of Jacob.

¹⁴ For the day wey I punish the people of Israel for their sins, I go destroy the alter of Bethel. The corner of the alter go break and e go fall for ground.

¹⁵ God talk say, I go destroy the winter house with summer house. The house of ivory go destroy. And many houses go destroy.
