Read Amos 3
1 Ẹ gbọ̀ ọ̀rọ yi ti Oluwa ti sọ si nyin, ẹnyin ọmọ Israeli, si gbogbo idile ti mo mú goke lati ilẹ Egipti wá, wipe,
1 Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
2 Ẹnyin nikan ni mo mọ̀ ninu gbogbo idile aiye: nitorina emi o bẹ̀ nyin wò nitori gbogbo ẹ̀ṣẹ nyin.
2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.
3 Ẹni meji lè rìn pọ̀, bikòṣepe nwọn rẹ́?
3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
4 Kiniun yio ké ramùramù ninu igbo, bi kò ni ohun ọdẹ? ọmọ kiniun yio ha ké jade ninu ihò rẹ̀, bi kò ri nkan mu?
4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?
5 Ẹiyẹ le lu okùn ni ilẹ, nibiti okùn didẹ kò gbe si fun u? okùn ha le ré kuro lori ilẹ, laijẹ pe o mu nkan rara?
5 Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?
6 A le fun ipè ni ilu, ki awọn enia má bẹ̀ru? tulasi ha le wà ni ilu, ki o má ṣepe Oluwa li o ṣe e?
6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
7 Nitori Oluwa Ọlọrun kì o ṣe nkan kan, ṣugbọn o fi ohun ikọ̀kọ rẹ̀ hàn awọn woli iranṣẹ rẹ̀.
7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
8 Kiniun ti ké ramùramù, tani kì yio bẹ̀ru? Oluwa Ọlọrun ti sọ̀rọ, tani lè ṣe aisọtẹlẹ?
8 The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?
9 Ẹ kede li ãfin Aṣdodu, ati li ãfin ni ilẹ Egipti, ki ẹ si wipe, Pè ara nyin jọ lori awọn oke nla Samaria, ki ẹ si wò irọkẹ̀kẹ nla lãrin rẹ̀, ati inilara lãrin rẹ̀.
9 Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.
10 Nitori nwọn kò mọ̀ bi ati ṣe otitọ, li Oluwa wi, nwọn ti kó ìwa-ipá ati ìwa-olè jọ li ãfin wọn.
10 For they know not to do right, saith the LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.
11 Nitorina, bayi li Oluwa Ọlọrun wi; Ọta kan yio si wà yi ilẹ na ka; on o si sọ agbara rẹ kalẹ kuro lara rẹ, a o si kó ãfin rẹ wọnni.
11 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; An adversary there shall be even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled.
12 Bayi li Oluwa wi; gẹgẹ bi oluṣọ-agùtan iti gbà itan meji kuro li ẹnu kiniun, tabi ẹlà eti kan; bẹ̃li a o mu awọn ọmọ Israeli ti ngbe Samaria kuro ni igun akete, ati ni aṣọ Damasku irọ̀gbọku.
12 Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.
13 Ẹ gbọ́, ẹ si jẹri si ile Jakobu, li Oluwa Ọlọrun, Ọlọrun awọn ọmọ-ogun wi,
13 Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord GOD, the God of hosts,
14 Pe, li ọjọ ti emi o bẹ̀ irekọja Israeli wò lara rẹ̀, emi o bẹ̀ awọn pẹpẹ Beteli wò pẹlu: a o si ké iwo pẹpẹ kuro, nwọn o si wó lulẹ.
14 That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.
15 Emi o si lù ile otutù pẹlu ile ẹ̃rùn; ile ehín erin yio si ṣègbe, ile nla wọnni yio si li opin, li Oluwa wi.
15 And I will smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the LORD.
