1 OLUWA ni mo gbẹkẹ mi le: ẹ ha ti ṣe wi fun ọkàn mi pe, sá bi ẹiyẹ lọ si òke nyin?

1 In the LORD put I my trust: How say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?

2 Sa kiyesi i, awọn enia buburu ti fà ọrun wọn le, nwọn ti fi ọfa sùn li oju ọṣán, ki nwọn ki o le ta a li òkunkun si ọlọkàn diduro.

2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

3 Bi ipilẹ ba bajẹ, kili olododo yio ṣe?

3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

4 Oluwa mbẹ ninu tempili mimọ́ rẹ̀, itẹ́ Oluwa mbẹ li ọrun: oju rẹ̀ nwò, ipenpeju rẹ̀ ndán awọn ọmọ enia wò.

4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

5 Oluwa ndán olododo wò: ṣugbọn enia buburu ati ẹniti nfẹ ìwa-agbara, ọkàn rẹ̀ korira.

5 The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

6 Lori enia buburu ni yio rọjo, ẹyín gbigbona ati imi-ọjọ ati iji gbigbona: eyi ni ipin ago wọn.

6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

7 Nitori olododo li Oluwa, o fẹ ododo; awọn ẹniti o duro-ṣinṣin yio ri oju rẹ̀.

7 For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.
