1 IMURA aiya, ti enia ni, ṣugbọn lati ọdọ Oluwa ni idadùn ahọn.

1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.

2 Gbogbo ọ̀na enia li o mọ́ li oju ara rẹ̀; ṣugbọn Oluwa li o ndiwọ̀n ọkàn.

2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.

3 Kó iṣẹ rẹ le Oluwa lọwọ, a o si fi idi ìro-inu rẹ kalẹ.

3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

4 Oluwa ti ṣe ohun gbogbo fun ipinnu rẹ̀: nitõtọ, awọn enia buburu fun ọjọ ibi.

4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

5 Olukulùku enia ti o gberaga li aiya, irira ni loju Oluwa: bi a tilẹ fi ọwọ so ọwọ, kì yio wà laijiya.

5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

6 Nipa ãnu ati otitọ a bò ẹ̀ṣẹ mọlẹ; ati nipa ibẹ̀ru Oluwa, enia a kuro ninu ibi.

6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

7 Nigbati ọ̀na enia ba wù Oluwa, On a mu awọn ọtá rẹ̀ pãpa wà pẹlu rẹ̀ li alafia.

7 When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

8 Diẹ pẹlu ododo, o san jù ọrọ̀ nla lọ laisi ẹtọ́.

8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.

9 Aiya enia ni ngbìmọ ọ̀na rẹ̀, ṣugbọn Oluwa li o ntọ́ itẹlẹ rẹ̀.

9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

10 Ọrọ isọtẹlẹ mbẹ li ète ọba: ẹnu rẹ̀ kì iṣẹ̀ ni idajọ.

10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.

11 Iwọn ati òṣuwọn otitọ ni ti Oluwa: gbogbo okuta-ìwọn àpo, iṣẹ rẹ̀ ni.

11 A just weight and balance are the LORD's: all the weights of the bag are his work.

12 Irira ni fun awọn ọba lati ṣe buburu: nitoripe nipa ododo li a ti fi idi itẹ́ kalẹ.

12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.

13 Ete ododo ni didùn-inu awọn ọba: nwọn si fẹ ẹniti nsọ̀rọ titọ.

13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.

14 Ibinu ọba dabi iranṣẹ ikú: ṣugbọn ọlọgbọ́n enia ni yio tù u.

14 The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it.

15 Ni imọlẹ oju ọba ni ìye; ojurere rẹ̀ si dabi awọsanma òjo arọkuro.

15 In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain.

16 Lati ni ọgbọ́n, melomelo li o san jù wura lọ; ati lati ni oye, melomelo li o dara jù fadaka lọ.

16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

17 Òpopo-ọ̀na awọn aduro-ṣinṣin ni ati kuro ninu ibi: ẹniti o pa ọ̀na rẹ̀ mọ́, o pa ọkàn rẹ̀ mọ́.

17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

18 Igberaga ni iṣaju iparun, agidi ọkàn ni iṣaju iṣubu.

18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

19 O san lati ṣe onirẹlẹ ọkàn pẹlu awọn talaka, jù ati ba awọn agberaga pin ikógun.

19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

20 Ẹniti o fi oye ṣe ọ̀ran yio ri ire; ẹniti o si gbẹkẹ le Oluwa, ibukún ni fun u.

20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.

21 Ọlọgbọ́n aiya li a o pè li amoye: didùn-ète a si ma mu ẹkọ́ pọ̀.

21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.

22 Oye li orisun ìye fun ẹniti o ni i: ṣugbọn ẹkọ́ aṣiwère ni iwère.

22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.

23 Aiya ọlọgbọ́n mu ọ̀rọ ẹnu rẹ̀ gbọ́n, o si mu ẹkọ́ pọ̀ li ète rẹ̀.

23 The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.

24 Ọrọ didùn dabi afara oyin, o dùn mọ ọkàn, o si ṣe ilera fun egungun.

24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

25 Ọ̀na kan wà ti o dabi ẹnipe o dara fun enia, ṣugbọn opin rẹ̀ li ọ̀na ikú.

25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

26 Ọkàn ti o nṣiṣẹ, o nṣiṣẹ fun ara rẹ̀; nitoripe ẹnu ara rẹ̀ li o nsún u ṣe e.

26 He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him.

27 Enia-buburu hù ìwa-ibi jade, ati li ète rẹ̀ bi ẹnipe iná jijo li o wà nibẹ.

27 An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire.

28 Alayidayida enia dá ìja silẹ: asọ̀rọkẹlẹ yà awọn ọrẹ́ ni ipa.

28 A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.

29 Ẹni ìwa-agbara tàn aladugbo rẹ̀, a si mu u lọ si ipa-ọ̀na ti kò dara.

29 A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good.

30 On a di oju rẹ̀ lati gbèro ohun ayidayida: o ká ète rẹ̀ sinu, o pari ohun buburu.

30 He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.

31 Ade ogo li ori ewú, bi a ba ri i li ọ̀na ododo.

31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.

32 Ẹniti o lọra ati binu, o san jù alagbara lọ; ẹniti o si ṣe akoso ẹmi rẹ̀, o jù ẹniti o ṣẹgun ilu lọ.

32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.

33 A ṣẹ́ keke dà si iṣẹpo aṣọ; ṣugbọn gbogbo idajọ rẹ̀ lọwọ Oluwa ni.

33 The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.
