1 LI ọjọ kẹrinlelogun oṣu yi, awọn ọmọ Israeli pejọ ninu àwẹ ati aṣọ ọ̀fọ, ati erupẹ lori wọn.

1 Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them.

2 Awọn iru-ọmọ Israeli si ya ara wọn kuro ninu awọn ọmọ alejo, nwọn si duro, nwọn jẹwọ ẹ̀ṣẹ wọn, ati aiṣedede awọn baba wọn.

2 And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.

3 And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the LORD their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they confessed, and worshipped the LORD their God.

4 Nigbana ni Jeṣua, ati Bani, Kadmieli, Ṣebaniah, Bunni, Ṣerebiah, Bani ati Kenani duro lori pẹtẹsì awọn ọmọ Lefi, nwọn si fi ohun rara kigbe si Oluwa Ọlọrun wọn.

4 Then stood up upon the stairs, of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, and cried with a loud voice unto the LORD their God.

5 Awọn ọmọ Lefi, Jeṣua, Kadmieli, Bani, Haṣabaiah, Ṣerebiah, Hodijah, Sebaniah, ati Pelaniah, si wipe: Ẹ dide, ki ẹ fi iyìn fun Oluwa Ọlọrun nyin lai ati lailai: ibukun si ni fun orukọ rẹ ti o li ogo, ti o ga jù gbogbo ibukun ati iyìn lọ.

5 Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, Stand up and bless the LORD your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.

6 Iwọ, ani iwọ nikanṣoṣo li Oluwa; iwọ li o ti dá ọrun, ọrun awọn ọrun pẹlu gbogbo ogun wọn, aiye, ati ohun gbogbo ti mbẹ ninu rẹ̀, okun, ati ohun gbogbo ti mbẹ̀ ninu rẹ̀, iwọ si pa gbogbo wọn mọ́ lãyè, ogun ọrun si nsìn ọ.

6 Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.

7 Iwọ ni Oluwa Ọlọrun, ti o ti yan Abramu, ti o si mu u jade lati Uri ti Kaldea wá, iwọ si sọ orukọ rẹ̀ ni Abrahamu;

7 Thou art the LORD the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham;

8 Iwọ si ri pe ọkàn rẹ̀ jẹ olõtọ niwaju rẹ, iwọ si ba a dá majẹmu lati fi ilẹ awọn ara Kenaani, awọn ara Hitti, awọn ara Amori, ati awọn ara Perisi, ati awọn ara Jebusi, ati awọn ara Girgasi fun u, lati fi fun iru-ọmọ rẹ̀, iwọ si ti mu ọ̀rọ rẹ ṣẹ; nitori olododo ni iwọ:

8 And foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give it, I say, to his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou art righteous:

9 Iwọ si ri ipọnju awọn baba wa ni Egipti, o si gbọ́ igbe wọn lẹba Okun Pupa;

9 And didst see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heardest their cry by the Red sea;

10 O si fi ami, ati iṣẹ-iyanu hàn li ara Farao, ati li ara gbogbo iranṣẹ rẹ̀, ati li ara gbogbo enia ilẹ rẹ̀: nitori iwọ mọ̀ pe, nwọn hu ìwa igberaga si wọn. Iwọ si fi orukọ fun ara rẹ bi ti oni yi.

10 And shewedst signs and wonders upon Pharoah, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them. So didst thou get thee a name, as it is this day.

11 Iwọ si ti pin okun niwaju wọn, nwọn si la arin okun ja li ori ilẹ gbigbẹ; iwọ sọ awọn oninunibini wọn sinu ibú, bi okuta sinu omi lile.

11 And thou didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou threwest into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters.

12 Iwọ si fi ọwọ̀n awọ-sanma ṣe amọ̀na wọn li ọsan, ati li oru, ọwọ̀n iná, lati fun wọn ni imọlẹ li ọ̀na ninu eyiti nwọn o rin.

12 Moreover thou leddest them in the day by a cloudy pillar; and in the night by a pillar of fire, to give them light in the way wherein they should go.

13 Iwọ si sọkalẹ wá si ori òke Sinai, o si bá wọn sọ̀rọ lati ọrun wá, o fun wọn ni idajọ titọ, ofin otitọ, ilana ati ofin rere.

13 Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments:

14 Iwọ si mu ọjọ isimi mimọ rẹ di mimọ̀ fun wọn, o si paṣẹ ẹkọ́, ilana, ati ofin fun wọn, nipa ọwọ Mose iranṣẹ rẹ.

14 And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant:

15 O si fun wọn li onjẹ lati ọrun wá fun ebi wọn, o si mu omi lati inu apata wá fun orungbẹ wọn, o si ṣe ileri fun wọn pe, ki nwọn lọ ijogun ilẹ na ti iwọ ti bura lati fi fun wọn.

15 And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.

16 Ṣugbọn awọn ati awọn baba wa hu ìwa igberaga, nwọn si mu ọrùn wọn le, nwọn kò si gba ofin rẹ gbọ́.

16 But they and our fathers dealt proudly, and hardened their necks, and hearkened not to thy commandments,

17 Nwọn si kọ̀ lati gbọràn, bẹ̃ni nwọn kò ranti iṣẹ iyanu ti iwọ ṣe li ãrin wọn; ṣugbọn nwọn mu ọrùn wọn le, ninu ìṣọtẹ wọn, nwọn yan olori lati pada si oko-ẹrú wọn: ṣugbọn iwọ li Ọlọrun ti o mura lati dariji, olore ọfẹ, ati alãnu, o lọra lati binu, o si ṣeun pipọ̀, o kò si kọ̀ wọn silẹ.

17 And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not.

18 Nitõtọ nigbati nwọn ṣe ẹgbọrọ-malu didà, ti nwọn si wipe, Eyi li Ọlọrun rẹ ti o mu ọ gòke ti Egipti jade wá, nwọn si ṣe imunibinu nla.

18 Yea, when they had made them a molten calf, and said, This is thy God that brought thee up out of Egypt, and had wrought great provocations;

19 Ṣugbọn iwọ, ninu ọ̀pọlọpọ ãnu rẹ, kò kọ̀ wọn silẹ li aginju, ọwọ̀n kũkũ kò kuro lọdọ wọn lojojumọ lati ṣe amọna wọn, bẹ̃ si li ọwọ̀n iná lati fun wọn ni imọlẹ li oru li ọ̀na ti nwọn iba rìn.

19 Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way wherein they should go.

20 Iwọ fun wọn li ẹmi rere rẹ pẹlu lati kọ́ wọn, iwọ kò si gba manna rẹ kuro li ẹnu wọn, iwọ si fun wọn li omi fun orungbẹ wọn.

20 Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.

21 Nitotọ, ogoji ọdun ni iwọ fi bọ́ wọn li aginju, nwọn kò si ṣe alaini; aṣọ wọn kò gbó, ẹsẹ wọn kò si wú.

21 Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.

22 Pẹlupẹlu iwọ fi ijọba ati orilẹ-ède fun wọn, o si pin wọn si ìha gbogbo, bẹ̃ni nwọn jogun ilẹ Sihoni, ati ilẹ ọba Heṣboni, ati ilẹ Ogu, ọba Baṣani.

22 Moreover thou gavest them kingdoms and nations, and didst divide them into corners: so they possessed the land of Sihon, and the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan.

23 Awọn ọmọ wọn pẹlu ni iwọ sọ di pipọ bi irawọ ọrun, o si mu wọn wá ilẹ na sipa eyiti o ti leri fun awọn baba wọn pe: ki nwọn lọ sinu rẹ̀ lati gbà a.

23 Their children also multipliedst thou as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land, concerning which thou hadst promised to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it.

24 Bẹ̃li awọn ọmọ na wọ inu rẹ̀ lọ, nwọn si gbà ilẹ na, iwọ si tẹ ori awọn ara ilẹ na ba niwaju wọn, awọn ara Kenaani, o si fi wọn le ọwọ wọn, pẹlu ọba wọn, ati awọn enia ilẹ na, ki nwọn ki o le fi wọn ṣe bi o ti wù wọn.

24 So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would.

25 Nwọn si gbà ilu alagbara, ati ilẹ ọlọra, nwọn si gbà ilẹ ti o kún fun ohun rere, kanga, ọgba-ajara, ọgba-olifi, ati igi eleso, li ọ̀pọlọpọ: bẹ̃ni nwọ́n jẹ, nwọn si yo, nwọ́n sanra, nwọn si ni inu-didùn ninu ore rẹ nla.

25 And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness.

26 Ṣugbọn nwọn ṣe alaigbọràn, nwọn si ṣọ̀tẹ si ọ, nwọn si gbe ofin rẹ sọ si ẹ̀hin wọn, nwọn si pa awọn woli rẹ ti nsọ fun wọn lati yipada si ọ, nwọn si ṣe imunibinu nla.

26 Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations.

27 Nitorina ni iwọ fi wọn le ọwọ awọn ọta wọn, ti o pọn wọn loju, ati li akoko ipọnju wọn, nigbati nwọn kigbe pè ọ, iwọ gbọ́ lati ọrun wá; ati gẹgẹ bi ọ̀pọlọpọ ãnu rẹ, iwọ fun wọn li olugbala, ti nwọn gbà wọn kuro lọwọ awọn ọta wọn.

27 Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.

28 Ṣugbọn li ẹhin ti nwọn ni isimi, nwọn si tun ṣe buburu niwaju rẹ: nitorina ni iwọ fi wọn le ọwọ awọn ọta wọn, tobẹ̃ ti nwọn jọba li ori wọn: ṣugbọn nigbati nwọn pada, ti nwọn si kigbe pè ọ, iwọ gbọ́ lati ọrun wá, ọ̀pọlọpọ ìgba ni iwọ si gbà wọn gẹgẹ bi ãnu rẹ.

28 But after they had rest, they did evil again before thee: therefore leftest thou them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them: yet when they returned, and cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and many times didst thou deliver them according to thy mercies;

29 Iwọ si jẹri gbè wọn ki iwọ ki o le tun mu wọn wá sinu ofin rẹ, ṣugbọn nwọn hu ìwa igberaga, nwọn kò si fi eti si ofin rẹ, nwọn si ṣẹ̀ si idajọ rẹ (eyiti bi enia ba ṣe on o yè ninu wọn), nwọn si gún èjika, nwọn mu ọrùn wọn le, nwọn kò si fẹ igbọ́.

29 And testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law: yet they dealt proudly, and hearkened not unto thy commandments, but sinned against thy judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.

30 Sibẹ ọ̀pọlọpọ ọdun ni iwọ fi mu suru fun wọn ti o si fi ẹmi rẹ jẹri gbè wọn ninu awọn woli rẹ: sibẹ̀ nwọn kò fi eti silẹ: nitorina ni iwọ ṣe fi wọn le ọwọ awọn enia ilẹ wọnni.

30 Yet many years didst thou forbear them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the people of the lands.

31 Ṣugbọn nitori ãnu rẹ nla iwọ kò run wọn patapata, bẹ̃ni iwọ kò kọ̀ wọn silẹ; nitori iwọ li Ọlọrun olore-ọfẹ ati alãnu.

31 Nevertheless for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.

32 Njẹ nitorina, Ọlọrun wa, Ọlọrun ti o tobi, ti o li agbara, ti o si li ẹ̀ru, ẹniti npa majẹmu ati ãnu mọ, má jẹ ki gbogbo iyọnu na dabi ohun kekere niwaju rẹ, o de bá wa, awọn ọba wa, awọn ijoye wa, ati awọn alufa wa, ati awọn woli wa, ati awọn baba wa, ati gbogbo awọn enia rẹ lati akoko ọba Assiria wá, titi o fi di oni yi.

32 Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.

33 Sibẹ, iwọ ṣe olododo ninu ohun gbogbo ti o de ba wa, iwọ si ti ṣe otitọ, ṣugbọn awa ti ṣe buburu:

33 Howbeit thou art just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly:

34 Awọn ọba wa, awọn ijoye wa, awọn alufa wa, ati awọn baba wa, kò pa ofin rẹ mọ, bẹ̃ni nwọn kò fi eti si aṣẹ rẹ, ati ẹri rẹ, ti iwọ fi jẹri gbè wọn.

34 Neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law, nor hearkened unto thy commandments and thy testimonies, wherewith thou didst testify against them.

35 Nitori ti nwọn kò sin ọ ninu ijọba wọn, ati ninu ore rẹ nla ti iwọ fi fun wọn, ati ninu ilẹ nla ati ọlọra ti o fi si iwaju wọn, bẹ̃ni nwọn kò pada kuro ninu iṣẹ buburu wọn.

35 For they have not served thee in their kingdom, and in thy great goodness that thou gavest them, and in the large and fat land which thou gavest before them, neither turned they from their wicked works.

36 Kiyesi i, ẹrú li awa iṣe li oni yi, ati ilẹ ti iwọ fi fun awọn baba wa lati ma jẹ eso rẹ̀, ati ire rẹ̀, kiyesi i, awa jẹ ẹrú ninu rẹ̀.

36 Behold, we are servants this day, and for the land that thou gavest unto our fathers to eat the fruit thereof and the good thereof, behold, we are servants in it:

37 Ilẹ na si mu ohun ọ̀pọlọpọ wá fun awọn ọba, ti iwọ ti fi ṣe olori wa nitori ẹ̀ṣẹ wa: nwọn ni aṣẹ lori ara wa pẹlu, ati lori ẹran-nla wa, bi o ti wù wọn, awa si wà ninu wàhala nla.

37 And it yieldeth much increase unto the kings whom thou hast set over us because of our sins: also they have dominion over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we are in great distress.

38 Ati nitori gbogbo eyi awa dá majẹmu ti o daju, a si kọwe rẹ̀; awọn ìjoye wa, awọn ọmọ Lefi, ati awọn alufa si fi èdidi di i.

38 And because of all this we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, Levites, and priests, seal unto it.
