1 O si wi fun awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ pẹlu pe, ọkunrin ọlọrọ̀ kan wà, ti o ni iriju kan; on na ni nwọn fi sùn u pe, o ti nfi ohun-ini rẹ̀ ṣòfo.

1 And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.

2 Nigbati o si pè e, o wi fun u pe, Ẽṣe ti emi fi ngbọ́ eyi si ọ? siro iṣẹ iriju rẹ; nitori iwọ ko le ṣe iriju mọ́.

2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

3 Iriju na si wi ninu ara rẹ̀ pe, Ewo li emi o ṣe? nitoriti Oluwa mi gbà iṣẹ iriju lọwọ mi: emi kò le wàlẹ; lati ṣagbe oju ntì mi.

3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.

4 Mo mọ̀ eyiti emi o ṣe, nigbati a ba mu mi kuro nibi iṣẹ iriju, ki nwọn ki o le gbà mi sinu ile wọn.

4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

5 O si pè awọn ajigbese oluwa rẹ̀ sọdọ rẹ̀, o si wi fun ekini pe, Elo ni iwọ jẹ oluwa mi?

5 So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?

6 O si wipe, Ọgọrun oṣuwọn oróro. O si wi fun u pe, Mu iwe rẹ, si joko nisisiyi, ki o si kọ adọta.

6 And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.

7 Nigbana li o si bi ẹnikeji pe, Elo ni iwọ jẹ? On si wipe, Ọgọrun oṣuwọn alikama. O si wi fun u pe, Mu iwe rẹ, ki o si kọ ọgọrin.

7 Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.

8 Oluwa rẹ̀ si yìn alaiṣõtọ iriju na, nitoriti o fi ọgbọ́n ṣe e: awọn ọmọ aiye yi sá gbọ́n ni iran wọn jù awọn ọmọ imọlẹ lọ.

8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

9 Emi si wi fun nyin, ẹ fi mammoni aiṣõtọ yàn ọrẹ́ fun ara nyin pe, nigbati yio ba yẹ̀, ki nwọn ki o le gbà nyin si ibujoko wọn titi aiye.

9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

10 Ẹniti o ba ṣe olõtọ li ohun kikini, o ṣe olõtọ ni pipọ pẹlu: ẹniti o ba si ṣe alaiṣõtọ li ohun kikini, o ṣe alaiṣõtọ li ohun pipo pẹlu.

10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

11 Njẹ bi ẹnyin kò ba ti jẹ olõtọ ni mammoni aiṣõtọ, tani yio fi ọrọ̀ tõtọ ṣú nyin?

11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

12 Bi ẹnyin ko ba si ti jẹ olõtọ li ohun ti iṣe ti ẹlomiran, tani yio fun nyin li ohun ti iṣe ti ẹnyin tikara nyin?

12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

14 Awọn Farisi, ti nwọn ni ojukokoro si gbọ́ gbogbo nkan wọnyi, nwọn si yọ-ṣùti si i.

14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

15 O si wi fun wọn pe, Ẹnyin li awọn ti ndare fun ara nyin niwaju enia; ṣugbọn Ọlọrun mọ̀ ọkàn nyin: nitori eyi ti a gbé niyin lọdọ enia, irira ni niwaju Ọlọrun.

15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

16 Ofin ati awọn woli mbẹ titi di igba Johanu: lati igbana wá li a ti nwasu ijọba Ọlọrun, olukuluku si nfi ipá wọ̀ inu rẹ̀.

16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

17 Ṣugbọn o rọrun fun ọrun on aiye lati kọja lọ, jù ki ṣonṣo kan ti ofin ki o yẹ̀.

17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

18 Ẹnikẹni ti o ba kọ̀ aya rẹ̀ silẹ, ti o si gbé omiran ni iyawo, o ṣe panṣaga: ẹnikẹni ti o ba si gbé, ẹniti ọkọ rẹ̀ kọ̀ silẹ ni iyawo, o ṣe panṣaga.

18 Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

19 Njẹ ọkunrin ọlọrọ̀ kan wà, ti o nwọ̀ aṣọ elesè àluko ati aṣọ àla daradara, a si ma jẹ didùndidun lojojumọ́:

19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20 Alagbe kan si wà ti a npè ni Lasaru, ti nwọn ima gbé wá kalẹ lẹba ọ̀na ile rẹ̀, o kún fun õju,

20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 On a si ma fẹ ki a fi ẹrún ti o ti ori tabili ọlọrọ̀ bọ silẹ bọ́ on: awọn ajá si wá, nwọn si fá a li õju lá.

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 O si ṣe, alagbe kú, a si ti ọwọ́ awọn angẹli gbé e lọ si õkan-àiya Abrahamu: ọlọrọ̀ na si kú pẹlu, a si sin i;

22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23 Ni ipo-oku li o gbé oju rẹ̀ soke, o mbẹ ninu iṣẹ oró, o si ri Abrahamu li òkere, ati Lasaru li õkan-àiya rẹ̀.

23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 O si ke, o wipe, Baba Abrahamu, ṣãnu fun mi, ki o si rán Lasaru, ki o tẹ̀ orika rẹ̀ bọmi, ki o si fi tù mi li ahọn; nitori emi njoró ninu ọwọ́ iná yi.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25 Ṣugbọn Abrahamu wipe, Ọmọ, ranti pe, nigba aiye rẹ, iwọ ti gbà ohun rere tirẹ, ati Lasaru ohun buburu: ṣugbọn nisisiyi ara rọ̀ ọ, iwọ si njoro.

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

26 Ati pẹlu gbogbo eyi, a gbe ọgbun nla kan si agbedemeji awa ati ẹnyin, ki awọn ti nfẹ má ba le rekọja lati ìhin lọ sọdọ nyin, ki ẹnikẹni má si le ti ọ̀hun rekọja tọ̀ wa wá.

26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

27 O si wipe, Njẹ mo bẹ̀ ọ, baba, ki iwọ ki o rán a lọ si ile baba mi:

27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

28 Nitori mo ni arakunrin marun; ki o le rò fun wọn ki awọn ki o má ba wá si ibi oró yi pẹlu.

28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

29 Abrahamu si wi fun u pe, Nwọn ni Mose ati awọn woli; ki nwọn ki o gbọ́ ti wọn.

29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30 O si wipe, Bẹ̃kọ, Abrahamu baba; ṣugbọn bi ẹnikan ba ti inu okú tọ̀ wọn lọ, nwọn ó ronupiwada.

30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31 O si wi fun u pe, Bi nwọn kò ba gbọ́ ti Mose ati ti awọn woli, a kì yio yi wọn li ọkan pada bi ẹnikan tilẹ ti inu okú dide.

31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
