Read John 4
1 NITORINA nigbati Oluwa ti mọ̀ bi awọn Farisi ti gbọ́ pe, Jesu nṣe o si mbaptisi awọn ọmọ-ẹhin pupọ jù Johanu lọ,
1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
2 (Ṣugbọn Jesu tikararẹ̀ kò baptisi bikoṣe awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀,)
2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)
3 O fi Judea silẹ, o si tún lọ si Galili.
3 He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.
4 On kò si le ṣaima kọja lãrin Samaria.
4 And he must needs go through Samaria.
5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 Kanga Jakọbu si wà nibẹ̀. Nitorina bi o ti rẹ̀ Jesu tan nitori ìrin rẹ̀, bẹ̀li o joko leti kanga: o si jẹ ìwọn wakati kẹfa ọjọ.
6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
7 Obinrin kan, ara Samaria, si wá lati pọn omi: Jesu wi fun u pe, Fun mi mu.
7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
8 (Nitori awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ ti lọ si ilu lọ irà onjẹ.)
8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
9 Nigbana li obinrin ara Samaria na wi fun u pe, Ẽti ri ti iwọ ti iṣe Ju, fi mbère ohun mimu lọwọ mi, emi ẹniti iṣe obinrin ara Samaria? nitoriti awọn Ju ki iba awọn ara Samaria da nkan pọ̀.
9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
10 Jesu dahùn, o si wi fun u pe, Ibaṣepe iwọ mọ̀ ẹ̀bun Ọlọrun, ati ẹniti o wi fun ọ pe, Fun mi mu, iwọ iba si ti bère lọwọ rẹ̀, on iba ti fi omi ìye fun ọ.
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 Obinrin na wi fun u pe, Ọgbẹni, iwọ kò ni nkan ti iwọ o fi fà omi, bẹ̃ni kanga na jìn: nibo ni iwọ gbé ti ri omi ìye na?
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 Iwọ pọ̀ju Jakọbu baba wa lọ bí, ẹniti o fun wa ni kanga na, ti on tikararẹ̀ mu ninu rẹ̀, ati awọn ọmọ rẹ̀, ati awọn ẹran rẹ̀?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13 Jesu dahùn, o si wi fun u pe, Ẹnikẹni ti o ba mu ninu omi yi, orùngbẹ yio si tún gbẹ ẹ:
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 Ṣugbọn ẹnikẹni ti o ba mu ninu omi ti emi o fifun u, orùngbẹ kì yio gbẹ ẹ mọ́ lai; ṣugbọn omi ti emi o fifun u yio di kanga omi ninu rẹ̀, ti yio ma sun si ìye ainipẹkun.
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
15 Obinrin na si wi fun u pe, Ọgbẹni, fun mi li omi yi, ki orùngbẹ ki o màṣe gbẹ mi, ki emi ki o má si wá fà omi nihin.
15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
16 Jesu wi fun u pe, Lọ ipè ọkọ rẹ, ki o si wá si ihinyi.
16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
17 Obinrin na dahùn, o si wi fun u pe, Emi kò li ọkọ. Jesu wi fun u pe, Iwọ wi rere pe, emi kò li ọkọ:
17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
18 Nitoriti iwọ ti li ọkọ marun ri; ẹniti iwọ si ni nisisiyi kì iṣe ọkọ rẹ; iwọ sọ otitọ li eyini.
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
19 Obinrin na wi fun u pe, Ọgbẹni, mo woye pe, woli ni iwọ iṣe.
19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
20 Awọn baba wa sìn lori òke yi; ẹnyin si wipe, Jerusalemu ni ibi ti o yẹ ti a ba ma sìn.
20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
21 Jesu wi fun u pe, Gbà mi gbọ́, obinrin yi, wakati na mbọ̀, nigbati kì yio ṣe lori òke yi, tabi Jerusalemu, li ẹnyin o ma sìn Baba.
21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 Ẹnyin nsìn ohun ti ẹnyin kò mọ̀: awa nsìn ohun ti awa mọ̀: nitori igbala ti ọdọ awọn Ju wá.
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 Ẹmí li Ọlọrun: awọn ẹniti nsìn i ko le ṣe alaisìn i li ẹmí ati li otitọ.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
25 Obinrin na wi fun u pe, mo mọ̀ pe Messia mbọ̀ wá, ti a npè ni Kristi: nigbati on ba de, yio sọ ohun gbogbo fun wa.
25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
26 Jesu wi fun u pe, Emi ẹniti mba ọ sọ̀rọ yi li on.
26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
27 Lori eyi li awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ de, ẹnu si yà wọn, pe o mba obinrin sọ̀rọ: ṣugbọn kò si ẹnikan ti o wipe, Kini iwọ nwá? tabi, Ẽṣe ti iwọ fi mba a sọ̀rọ?
27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
28 Nigbana li obinrin na fi ladugbo rẹ̀ silẹ, o si mu ọ̀na rẹ̀ pọ̀n lọ si ilu, o si wi fun awọn enia pe,
28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
29 Ẹ wá wò ọkunrin kan, ẹniti o sọ ohun gbogbo ti mo ti ṣe ri fun mi: eyi ha le jẹ Kristi na?
29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
31 Lãrin eyi awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ nrọ̀ ọ, wipe, Rabbi, jẹun.
31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.
32 Ṣugbọn o wi fun wọn pe, emi li onjẹ lati jẹ, ti ẹnyin kò mọ̀.
32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
33 Nitorina li awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ mbi ara wọn lère wipe, Ẹnikan mú onjẹ fun u wá lati jẹ bi?
33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
34 Jesu wi fun wọn pe, Onjẹ mi ni lati ṣe ifẹ ẹniti o rán mi, ati lati pari iṣẹ rẹ̀.
34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
35 Ẹnyin kò ha nwipe, O kù oṣù mẹrin, ikorè yio si de? wo o, mo wi fun nyin, Ẹ gbé oju nyin soke, ki ẹ si wó oko; nitoriti nwọn ti funfun fun ikore na.
35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
38 Mo rán nyin lọ ikore ohun ti ẹ kò ṣiṣẹ le lori: awọn ẹlomiran ti ṣiṣẹ, ẹnyin si wọ̀ inu iṣẹ wọn lọ.
38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
39 Ọpọ awọn ara Samaria lati ilu na wá si gbà a gbọ́, nitori ọ̀rọ obinrin na, o jẹri pe, O sọ gbogbo ohun ti mo ti ṣe fun mi.
39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
40 Nitorina, nigbati awọn ara Samaria wá sọdọ rẹ̀, nwọn bẹ̀ ẹ pe, ki o ba wọn joko: o si gbé ibẹ̀ ni ijọ meji.
40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
41 Awọn ọ̀pọlọpọ si i si gbagbọ́ nitori ọ̀rọ rẹ̀;
41 And many more believed because of his own word;
42 Nwọn si wi fun obinrin na pe, Ki iṣe nitori ọrọ rẹ mọ li awa ṣe gbagbọ: nitoriti awa tikarawa ti gbọ́ ọ̀rọ rẹ̀, awa si mọ̀ pe, nitõtọ eyi ni Kristi na, Olugbala araiye.
42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
43 Lẹhin ijọ meji o si ti ibẹ̀ kuro, o lọ si Galili.
43 Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.
44 Nitori Jesu tikararẹ̀ ti jẹri wipe, Woli ki ini ọlá ni ilẹ on tikararẹ̀.
44 For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.
45 Nitorina nigbati o de Galili, awọn ara Galili gbà a, nitoriti nwọn ti ri ohun gbogbo ti o ṣe ni Jerusalemu nigba ajọ; nitori awọn tikarawọn lọ si ajọ pẹlu.
45 Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.
46 So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47 Nigbati o gbọ́ pe, Jesu ti Judea wá si Galili, o tọ̀ ọ wá, o si mbẹ̀ ẹ, ki o le sọkalẹ wá ki o mu ọmọ on larada: nitoriti o wà li oju ikú.
47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
48 Nigbana ni Jesu wi fun u pe, Bikoṣepe ẹnyin ba ri àmi ati iṣẹ iyanu, ẹnyin kì yio gbagbọ́ lai.
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
49 Ọkunrin ọlọla na wi fun u pe, Oluwa, sọkalẹ wá, ki ọmọ mi ki o to ku.
49 The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
50 Jesu wi fun u pe, Mã ba ọ̀na rẹ lọ; ọmọ rẹ yè. ọkunrin na si gbà ọ̀rọ ti Jesu sọ fun u gbọ́, o si lọ.
50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
51 Bi o si ti nsọkalẹ lọ, awọn ọmọ-ọdọ rẹ̀ pade rẹ̀, nwọn si wi fun u pe, ọmọ rẹ yè.
51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
52 Nigbana li o bère wakati ti o bẹ̀rẹ si isàn lọwọ wọn. Nwọn si wi fun u pe, Li ana, ni wakati keje, ni ibà na fi i silẹ.
52 Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
54 Eyi ni iṣẹ́ ami keji, ti Jesu ṣe nigbati o ti Judea jade wá si Galili.
54 This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.
