1 NITORINA ni Pilatu mu Jesu, o si nà a.
1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
2 Awọn ọmọ-ogun si hun ade ẹgún, nwọn si fi de e li ori, nwọn si fi aṣọ igunwà elesè àluko wọ̀ ọ.
2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
3 Nwọn si wipe, Kabiyesi, Ọba awọn Ju! nwọn si fi ọwọ́ wọn gbá a loju.
3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
4 Pilatu si tún jade, o si wi fun wọn pe, Wo o, mo mu u jade tọ̀ nyin wá, ki ẹnyin ki o le mọ̀ pe, emi kò ri ẹ̀ṣẹ kan lọwọ rẹ̀.
4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
5 Nitorina Jesu jade wá, ti on ti ade ẹgún ati aṣọ elesè àluko. Pilatu si wi fun wọn pe, Ẹ wò ọkunrin na!
5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!
6 Nitorina nigbati awọn olori alufa, ati awọn onṣẹ ri i, nwọn kigbe wipe, Kàn a mọ agbelebu, kàn a mọ agbelebu. Pilatu wi fun wọn pe, Ẹ mu u fun ara nyin, ki ẹ si kàn a mọ agbelebu: nitoriti emi ko ri ẹ̀ṣẹ lọwọ rẹ̀.
6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.
7 Awọn Ju da a lohùn wipe, Awa li ofin kan, ati gẹgẹ bi ofin wa o yẹ lati kú, nitoriti o fi ara rẹ̀ ṣe Ọmọ Ọlọrun.
7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
8 Nitorina nigbati Pilatu gbọ́ ọ̀rọ yi ẹ̀ru tubọ ba a.
8 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;
9 O si tun wọ̀ inu gbọ̀ngan idajọ lọ, o si wi fun Jesu pe, Nibo ni iwọ ti wá? Ṣugbọn Jesu kò da a lohùn.
9 And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.
10 Nitorina Pilatu wi fun u pe, Emi ni iwọ ko fọhun si? iwọ kò mọ̀ pe, emi li agbara lati dá ọ silẹ, emi si li agbara lati kàn ọ mọ agbelebu?
10 Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
11 Jesu da a lohun pe, Iwọ kì ba ti li agbara kan lori mi, bikoṣepe a fi i fun ọ lati oke wá: nitorina ẹniti o fi mi le ọ lọwọ li o ni ẹ̀ṣẹ pọ̀ju.
11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.
12 Nitori eyi Pilatu nwá ọ̀na lati dá a silẹ: ṣugbọn awọn Ju kigbe, wipe, Bi iwọ ba dá ọkunrin yi silẹ, iwọ kì iṣe ọrẹ́ Kesari: ẹnikẹni ti o ba ṣe ara rẹ̀ li ọba, o sọ̀rọ òdi si Kesari.
12 And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.
13 Nitorina nigbati Pilatu gbọ́ ọ̀rọ wọnyi, o mu Jesu jade wá, o si joko lori itẹ́ idajọ ti a npè ni Okuta-titẹ, ṣugbọn li ede Heberu, Gabbata.
13 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.
14 O jẹ Ipalẹmọ́ ajọ irekọja, o jẹ iwọn wakati ẹkẹfa: o si wi fun awọn Ju pe, Ẹ wò Ọba nyin!
14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
15 Nitorina nwọn kigbe wipe, Mu u kuro, mu u kuro, kàn a mọ agbelebu. Pilatu wi fun wọn pe, Emi o ha kàn Ọba nyin mọ agbelebu bi? Awọn olori alufa dahùn wipe,
15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priest answered, We have no king but Caesar.
16 Awa kò li ọba bikoṣe Kesari. Nigbana li o fà a le wọn lọwọ lati kàn a mọ agbelebu.
16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
17 Nitorina nwọn mu Jesu, o si jade lọ, o rù agbelebu fun ara rẹ̀ si ibi ti a npè ni Ibi-agbari, li ede Heberu ti a npè ni Golgota:
17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
18 Nibiti nwọn gbé kàn a mọ agbelebu, ati awọn meji miran pẹlu rẹ̀, niha ikini ati nìha keji, Jesu si wà larin.
18 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.
19 Pilatu si kọ iwe akọle kan pẹlu, o si fi i le ori agbelebu na. Ohun ti a si kọ ni, JESU TI NASARETI ỌBA AWỌN JU.
19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
20 Nitorina ọpọ awọn Ju li o kà iwe akọle yi: nitori ibi ti a gbé kàn Jesu mọ agbelebu sunmọ eti ilu: a si kọ ọ li ède Heberu, ati ti Latini, ati ti Helene.
20 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.
21 Nitorina awọn olori alufa awọn Ju wi fun Pilatu pe, Máṣe kọ ọ pe, Ọba awọn Ju; ṣugbọn pe on wipe, Emi li Ọba awọn Ju.
21 Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
22 Pilatu dahùn pe, Ohun ti mo ti kọ tan, mo ti kọ na.
22 Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.
23 Nigbana li awọn ọmọ-ogun, nigbati nwọn kàn jesu mọ agbelebu tan, nwọn mu aṣọ rẹ̀, nwọn si pín wọn si ipa mẹrin, apakan fun ọmọ-ogun kọkan, ati àwọtẹlẹ rẹ̀: ṣugbọn àwọ̀tẹlẹ na kò li ojuran, nwọn hun u lati oke titi jalẹ.
23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
24 Nitorina nwọn wi fun ara wọn pe, Ẹ má jẹ ki a fà a ya, ṣugbọn ki a ṣẹ kèké nitori rẹ̀, ti ẹniti yio jẹ: ki iwe-mimọ́ ki o le ṣẹ, ti o wipe, Nwọn pín aṣọ mi larin ara wọn, nwọn si ṣẹ kèké fun aṣọ ileke mi. Nkan wọnyi li awọn ọmọ-ogun ṣe.
24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
25 Iya Jesu ati arabinrin iya rẹ̀ Maria aya Klopa, ati Maria Magdalene, si duro nibi agbelebu.
25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
26 Nitorina nigbati Jesu ri iya rẹ̀, ati ọmọ-ẹhin na duro, ẹniti Jesu fẹràn, o wi fun iya rẹ̀ pe, Obinrin, wò ọmọ rẹ!
26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
27 Lẹhin na li o si wi fun ọmọ-ẹhin na pe, Wò iya rẹ! Lati wakati na lọ li ọmọ-ẹhin na si ti mu u lọ si ile ara rẹ̀.
27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
28 Lẹhin eyi, bi Jesu ti mọ̀ pe, a ti pari ohun gbogbo tan, ki iwe-mimọ́ le ba ṣẹ, o wipe, Orungbẹ ngbẹ mi.
28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
29 A gbé ohun èlo kan kalẹ nibẹ̀ ti o kún fun ọti kikan: nwọn si fi sponge ti o kun fun ọti kikan, sori igi hissopu, nwọn si fi si i li ẹnu.
29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
30 Nitorina nigbati Jesu si ti gbà ọti kikan na, o wipe, O pari: o si tẹ ori rẹ̀ ba, o jọwọ ẹmí rẹ̀ lọwọ.
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
31 Nitori o jẹ ọjọ Ipalẹmọ, ki okú wọn ma bà wà lori agbelebu li ọjọ isimi, (nitori ojọ nla ni ọjọ isimi na) nitorina awọn Ju bẹ̀ Pilatu pe ki a ṣẹ egungun itan wọn, ki a si gbe wọn kuro.
31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
32 Nitorina awọn ọmọ-ogun wá, nwọn si ṣẹ́ egungun itan ti ekini, ati ti ekeji, ti a kàn mọ agbelebu pẹlu rẹ̀.
32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
33 Ṣugbọn nigbati nwọn de ọdọ Jesu, ti nwọn si ri pe, o ti kú na, nwọn kò si ṣẹ́ egungun itan rẹ̀:
33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:
34 Ṣugbọn ọkan ninu awọn ọmọ-ogun na fi ọ̀kọ gún u li ẹgbẹ, lojukanna ẹ̀jẹ ati omi si tú jade.
34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
35 Ẹniti o ri i si jẹri, otitọ si li ẹrí rẹ̀: o si mọ̀ pe õtọ li on wi, ki ẹnyin ki o le gbagbọ́.
35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
36 Nkan wọnyi ṣe, ki iwe-mimọ́ ki o le ṣẹ, ti o wipe, A kì yio fọ́ egungun rẹ̀.
36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
37 Iwe-mimọ́ miran ẹ̀wẹ si wipe, Nwọn o ma wò ẹniti a gún li ọ̀kọ.
37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
38 Lẹhin nkan wọnyi ni Josefu ará Arimatea, ẹniti iṣe ọmọ-ẹhin Jesu, ṣugbọn ni ikọ̀kọ nitori ìbẹru awọn Ju, o bẹ̀ Pilatu ki on ki o le gbé okú Jesu kuro: Pilatu si fun u li aṣẹ. Nitorina li o wá, o si gbé okú Jesu lọ.
38 And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
39 Nikodemu pẹlu si wá, ẹniti o tọ̀ Jesu wá loru lakọṣe, o si mu àdapọ̀ ojia ati aloe wá, o to ìwọn ọgọrun litra.
39 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.
40 Bẹni nwọn gbé okú Jesu, nwọn si fi aṣọ ọ̀gbọ dì i pẹlu turari, gẹgẹ bi iṣe awọn Ju ti ri ni isinkú wọn.
40 Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.
41 Agbala kan si wà nibiti a gbé kàn a mọ agbelebu; ibojì titun kan sí wà ninu agbala na, ninu eyiti a ko ti itẹ́ ẹnikẹni si ri.
41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.
42 Njẹ nibẹ ni nwọn si tẹ́ Jesu si, nitori Ipalẹmọ́ awọn Ju; nitori ibojì na wà nitosi.
42 There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.
