1 NIGBATI Jesu si ti sọ nkan wọnyi tan, o jade pẹlu awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ lọ soke odò Kedroni, nibiti agbala kan wà, ninu eyi ti o wọ̀, on ati awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀.
1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.
2 Judasi, ẹniti o fi i hàn, si mọ̀ ibẹ̀ pẹlu: nitori nigba-pupọ ni Jesu ima lọ sibẹ̀ pẹlu awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀.
2 And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.
3 Nigbana ni Judasi, lẹhin ti o ti gbà ẹgbẹ ọmọ-ogun, ati awọn onṣẹ́ lati ọdọ awọn olori alufa ati awọn Farisi, wá sibẹ̀ ti awọn ti fitilà ati òguṣọ̀, ati ohun ijà.
3 Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
4 Nitorina bi Jesu ti mọ̀ ohun gbogbo ti mbọ̀ wá ba on, o jade lọ, o si wi fun wọn pe, Tali ẹ nwá?
4 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
Ati Judasi pẹlu, ẹniti o fi i hàn, duro pẹlu wọn.
5 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
6 Nitorina bi o ti wi fun wọn pe, Emi niyi, nwọn bi sẹhin, nwọn si ṣubu lulẹ.
6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
7 Nitorina o tún bi wọn lẽre, wipe, Tali ẹ nwá? Nwọn si wipe, Jesu ti Nasareti.
7 Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
8 Jesu dahùn pe, Mo ti wi fun nyin pe, emi niyi: njẹ bi emi li ẹ ba nwá, ẹ jẹ ki awọn wọnyi mã lọ:
8 Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:
9 Ki ọ̀rọ nì ki o le ṣẹ, eyi ti o wipe, Awọn ti iwọ fifun mi, emi kò sọ ọ̀kan nù ninu wọn.
9 That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.
10 Nigbana ni Simoni Peteru ẹniti o ni idà, o fà a yọ, o si ṣá ọmọ-ọdọ olori alufa, o si ke etí ọtun rẹ̀ sọnù. Orukọ iranṣẹ na ama jẹ Malku.
10 Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
11 Nitorina Jesu wi fun Peteru pe, Tẹ̀ idà rẹ bọ inu àkọ rẹ̀: ago ti Baba ti fifun mi, emi ó ṣe alaimu u bi?
11 Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
12 Nigbana li ẹgbẹ ọmọ-ogun, ati olori ẹṣọ́, ati awọn onṣẹ awọn Ju mu Jesu, nwọn si dè e.
12 Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,
13 Nwọn kọ́ fa a lọ sọdọ Anna; nitori on ni iṣe ana Kaiafa, ẹniti iṣe olori alufa li ọdún na.
13 And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.
14 Kaiafa sá ni iṣe, ẹniti o ti ba awọn Ju gbìmọ̀ pe, o ṣanfani ki enia kan kú fun awọn enia.
14 Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
15 Simoni Peteru si ntọ̀ Jesu lẹhin, ati ọmọ-ẹhin miran kan: ọmọ-ẹhin na jẹ ẹni mimọ̀ fun olori alufa, o si ba Jesu wọ̀ afin olori alufa lọ.
15 And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest.
16 Ṣugbọn Peteru duro li ẹnu-ọ̀na lode. Nigbana li ọmọ-ẹhin miran nì, ti iṣe ẹni mimọ̀ fun olori alufa, o jade lọ, o si ba oluṣọna na sọ ọ, o si mu Peteru wọle.
16 But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
17 Nigbana li ọmọbinrin na ti nṣọ ẹnu-ọ̀na wi fun Peteru pe, Iwọ pẹlu ha ṣe ọkan ninu awọn ọmọ-ẹhin ọkunrin yi bi? O wipe, Emi kọ́.
17 Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.
18 Awọn ọmọ-ọdọ ati awọn onṣẹ si duro nibẹ̀, awọn ẹniti o ti daná ẹyín; nitori otutù mu, nwọn si nyána: Peteru si duro pẹlu wọn, o nyána.
18 And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
19 Nigbana li olori alufa bi Jesu lẽre niti awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀, ati niti ẹkọ́ rẹ̀.
19 The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
20 Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.
21 Ẽṣe ti iwọ fi mbi mi lẽre? bere lọwọ awọn ti o ti gbọ́ ọ̀rọ mi, ohun ti mo wi fun wọn: wo o, awọn wọnyi mọ̀ ohun ti emi wi.
21 Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.
22 Bi o si ti wi eyi tan, ọkan ninu awọn onṣẹ ti o duro tì i fi ọwọ́ rẹ̀ lù Jesu, wipe, Olori alufa ni iwọ nda lohùn bẹ̃?
22 And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?
23 Jesu da a lohùn wipe, Bi mo ba sọrọ buburu, jẹri si buburu na: ṣugbọn bi rere ba ni, ẽṣe ti iwọ fi nlù mi?
23 Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?
24 Nitori Anna rán a lọ ni didè sọdọ Kaiafa olori alufa.
24 Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
25 Ṣugbọn Simoni Peteru duro, o si nyána. Nigbana ni nwọn wi fun u pe, Iwọ pẹlu ha ṣe ọkan ninu awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀? O si sẹ́, o si wipe, Emi kọ́.
25 And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.
26 Ọkan ninu awọn ọmọ-ọdọ olori alufa, ti iṣe ibatan ẹniti Peteru ke etí rẹ̀ sọnù, wipe, Emi kò ha ri ọ pẹlu rẹ̀ li agbala?
26 One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
27 Nitorina Peteru tún sẹ́: lojukanna akukọ si kọ.
27 Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.
28 Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.
29 Nitorina Pilatu jade tọ̀ wọn lọ, o si wipe, Ẹ̀sun kili ẹnyin mu wá si ọkunrin yi?
29 Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?
30 Nwọn si dahùn wi fun u pe, Ibamaṣepe ọkunrin yi nhùwa ibi, a kì ba ti fà a le ọ lọwọ.
30 They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.
31 Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
32 Ki ọ̀rọ Jesu ki o le ba ṣẹ, eyiti o sọ, ti o nṣapẹrẹ irú ikú ti on o kú.
32 That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die.
33 Nitorina Pilatu tún wọ̀ inu gbọ̀ngan idajọ lọ, o si pè Jesu, o si wi fun u pe, Ọba awọn Ju ni iwọ iṣe?
33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
34 Jesu dahùn pe, Iwọ sọ eyi fun ara rẹ ni, tabi awọn ẹlomiran sọ ọ fun ọ nitori mi?
34 Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?
35 Pilatu dahùn wipe, Emi iṣe Ju bi? Awọn orilẹ-ède rẹ, ati awọn olori alufa li o fà ọ le emi lọwọ: kini iwọ ṣe?
35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?
36 Jesu dahùn wipe, Ijọba mi kì iṣe ti aiye yi: ibaṣepe ijọba mi iṣe ti aiye yi, awọn onṣẹ mi iba jà, ki a má bà fi mi le awọn Ju lọwọ: ṣugbọn nisisiyi ijọba mi kì iṣe lati ihin lọ.
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
37 Nitorina Pilatu wi fun u pe, Njẹ iwọ ha ṣe ọba bi? Jesu dahùn wipe, Iwọ wipe, ọba li emi iṣe. Nitori eyi li a ṣe bí mi, ati nitori idi eyi ni mo si ṣe wá si aiye, ki emi ki o le jẹri si otitọ. Olukuluku ẹniti iṣe ti otitọ ngbọ́ ohùn mi.
37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
38 Pilatu wi fun u pe, Kili otitọ? Nigbati o si ti wi eyi tan, o tún jade tọ̀ awọn Ju lọ, o si wi fun wọn pe, Emi kò ri ẹ̀ṣẹ kan lọwọ rẹ̀.
38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
39 But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
40 Nitorina gbogbo wọn tún kigbe wipe, Kì iṣe ọkunrin yi, bikoṣe Barabba. Ọlọṣa si ni Barabba.
40 Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
