Read John 1
1 LI àtetekọṣe li Ọ̀rọ wà, Ọ̀rọ si wà pẹlu Ọlọrun, Ọlọrun si li Ọ̀rọ na.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 On na li o wà li àtetekọṣe pẹlu Ọlọrun.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 Nipasẹ̀ rẹ̀ li a ti da ohun gbogbo; lẹhin rẹ̀ a ko si da ohun kan ninu ohun ti a da.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 Ninu rẹ̀ ni ìye wà; ìye na si ni imọlẹ̀ araiye.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 Imọlẹ na si nmọlẹ ninu òkunkun; òkunkun na kò si bori rẹ̀.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 Ọkunrin kan wà ti a rán lati ọdọ Ọlọrun wá, orukọ ẹniti njẹ Johanu.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 On na li a si rán fun ẹri, ki o le ṣe ẹlẹri fun imọlẹ na, ki gbogbo enia ki o le gbagbọ́ nipasẹ rẹ̀.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 On kì iṣe imọlẹ̀ na, ṣugbọn a rán a wá lati ṣe ẹlẹri fun Imọlẹ na.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 Imọlẹ otitọ mbẹ ti ntàn mọlẹ fun olúkulùku enia ti o wá si aiye.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 On si wà li aiye, nipasẹ rẹ̀ li a si ti da aiye, aiye kò si mọ̀ ọ.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 O tọ̀ awọn tirẹ̀ wá, awọn ará tirẹ̀ kò si gbà a.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 Ṣugbọn iye awọn ti o gbà a, awọn li o fi agbara fun lati di ọmọ Ọlọrun, ani awọn na ti o gbà orukọ rẹ̀ gbọ́:
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Awọn ẹniti a bí, kì iṣe nipa ti ẹ̀jẹ, tabi nipa ti ifẹ ara, bẹ̃ni kì iṣe nipa ifẹ ti enia, bikoṣe nipa ifẹ ti Ọlọrun.
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 Ọ̀rọ na si di ara, on si mba wa gbé, (awa si nwò ogo rẹ̀, ogo bi ti ọmọ bíbi kanṣoṣo lati ọdọ Baba wá,) o kún fun ore-ọfẹ ati otitọ.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15 Johanu si jẹri rẹ̀ o si kigbe, wipe, Eyi ni ẹniti mo sọrọ rẹ̀ pe, Ẹniti mbọ̀ lẹhin mi, o pọ̀ju mi lọ: nitori o wà ṣiwaju mi.
15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 Nitori ninu ẹkún rẹ̀ ni gbogbo wa si ti gbà, ati ore-ọfẹ kún ore-ọfẹ.
16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17 Nitoripe nipasẹ Mose li a ti fi ofin funni, ṣugbọn ore-ọfẹ ati otitọ tipasẹ Jesu Kristi wá.
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
18 Ko si ẹniti o ri Ọlọrun rí; Ọmọ bíbi kanṣoṣo, ti mbẹ li õkan àiya Baba, on na li o fi i hàn.
18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
19 Eyi si li ẹrí Johanu, nigbati awọn Ju rán awọn alufã ati awọn ọmọ Lefi lati Jerusalemu wá lati bi i lẽre pe, Tani iwọ ṣe?
19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
20 O si jẹwọ, kò si sẹ́; o si jẹwọ pe, Emi kì iṣe Kristi na.
20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
21 Nwọn si bi i pe, Tani iwọ ha iṣe? Elijah ni ọ bi? O si wipe Bẹ̃kọ. Iwọ ni woli na bi? O si dahùn wipe, Bẹ̃kọ.
21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
22 Nitorina nwọn wi fun u pe, Tani iwọ iṣe? ki awa ki o le fi èsi fun awọn ti o rán wa. Kili o wi ni ti ara rẹ?
22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
23 O wipe, Emi li ohùn ẹni ti nkigbe ni ijù, Ẹ ṣe ki ọ̀na Oluwa tọ́, gẹgẹ bi woli Isaiah ti wi.
23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
24 Awọn ti a rán si jẹ ninu awọn Farisi.
24 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
25 Nwọn si bi i lẽre, nwọn si wi fun u pe, Njẹ ẽṣe ti iwọ fi mbaptisi, bi iwọ kì ibá ṣe Kristi na, tabi Elijah, tabi woli na?
25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
26 Johanu da wọn lohùn, wipe, Emi nfi omi baptisi: ẹnikan duro larin nyin, ẹniti ẹnyin kò mọ̀;
26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
27 On na li ẹniti mbọ̀ lẹhin mi, ti o pọju mi lọ, ẹniti emi kò yẹ lati tú okùn bàta rẹ̀.
27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
28 Nkan wọnyi li a ṣe ni Betani loke odò Jordani, nibiti Johanu gbé mbaptisi.
28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
29 Ni ijọ keji Johanu ri Jesu mbọ̀ wá sọdọ rẹ̀; o wipe, Wò o, Ọdọ-agutan Ọlọrun, ẹniti o kó ẹ̀ṣẹ aiye lọ!
29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
30 Eyi li ẹniti mo ti wipe, ọkunrin kan mbọ̀ wá lẹhin mi, ẹniti o pọ̀ju mi lọ: nitoriti o ti wà ṣiwaju mi.
30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
31 Emi kò si mọ̀ ọ: ṣugbọn ki a le fi i hàn fun Israeli, nitorina li emi ṣe wá ti mo nfi omi baptisi.
31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
32 Johanu si jẹri, o wipe, mo ri Ẹmi sọkalẹ lati ọrun wá bi àdaba, o si bà le e.
32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
33 Emi kò si mọ̀ ọ: ṣugbọn ẹniti o rán mi wá, lati fi omi baptisi, on na li o wi fun mi pe, Lori ẹniti iwọ ba ri, ti Ẹmí sọkalẹ si, ti o si bà le e, on na li ẹniti nfi Ẹmí Mimọ́ baptisi.
33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
34 Emi si ti ri, emi si ti njẹri pe, Eyi li Ọmọ Ọlọrun.
34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
35 Ni ijọ keji ẹwẹ Johanu duro, ati meji ninu awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀:
35 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
36 O si wò Jesu bi o ti nrìn, o si wipe, Wò Ọdọ-agutan Ọlọrun!
36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
37 Awọn ọmọ-ẹhin meji na si gbọ́ nigbati o wi, nwọn si tọ̀ Jesu lẹhin.
37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
38 Nigbana ni Jesu yipada, o ri nwọn ntọ̀ on lẹhin, o si wi fun wọn pe, Kili ẹnyin nwá? Nwọn wi fun u pe, Rabbi, (itumọ̀ eyi ti ijẹ Olukọni,) nibo ni iwọ ngbé?
38 Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?
39 O wi fun wọn pe, Ẹ wá wò o. Nwọn si wá, nwọn si ri ibi ti o ngbé, nwọn si ba a joko ni ijọ na: nitoriti o jẹ ìwọn wakati kẹwa ọjọ.
39 He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.
40 Ọkan ninu awọn meji ti o gbọ́ ọ̀rọ Johanu, ti o si tọ̀ Jesu lẹhin, ni Anderu, arakunrin Simoni Peteru.
40 One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.
41 On tètekọ ri Simoni arakunrin on tikararẹ̀, o si wi fun u pe, Awa ti ri Messia, itumọ̀ eyi ti ijẹ Kristi.
41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
42 O si mu u wá sọdọ Jesu. Jesu si wò o, o wipe, Iwọ ni Simoni ọmọ Jona: Kefa li a o si ma pè ọ, itumọ̀ eyi ti ijẹ Peteru.
42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
43 Ni ọjọ keji Jesu nfẹ jade lọ si Galili, o si ri Filippi, o si wi fun u pe, Mã tọ̀ mi lẹhin.
43 The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.
44 Ara Betsaida ni Filippi iṣe, ilu Anderu ati Peteru.
44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

46 Natanaeli si wi fun u pe, Ohun rere kan ha le ti Nasareti jade? Filippi wi fun u pe, Wá wò o.
46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

49 Natanaeli dahùn, o si wi fun u pe, Rabbi, iwọ li Ọmọ Ọlọrun; iwọ li Ọba Israeli.
49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.
50 Jesu dahùn, o si wi fun u pe, Nitori mo wi fun ọ pe, mo ri ọ labẹ igi ọpọtọ ni iwọ ṣe gbagbọ? iwọ ó ri ohun ti o pọ̀ju wọnyi lọ.
50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.
51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
