1 JOBU si dahùn o si wipe,
1 But Job answered and said,
2 A! a ba le iwọ̀n ibinujẹ mi ninu òṣuwọn, ki a si le igbe ọ̀fọ mi le ori òṣuwọn ṣọkan pọ̀!
2 Oh that my grief were throughly weighed, and my calamity laid in the balances together!
3 Njẹ nisisiyi, iba wuwo jù iyanrin okun lọ: nitorina li ọ̀rọ mi ṣe ntàse.
3 For now it would be heavier than the sand of the sea: therefore my words are swallowed up.
4 Nitoripe ọfa Olodumare wọ̀ mi ninu, oró eyiti ọkàn mi mu; ipaiya-ẹ̀ru Ọlorun dotì mi.
4 For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof drinketh up my spirit: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.
5 Kẹtẹkẹtẹ ìgbẹ a ma dún, nigbati o ba ni koriko, tabi ọdá-malu a ma dún sori ijẹ rẹ̀?
5 Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? or loweth the ox over his fodder?
6 A le jẹ ohun ti kò li adùn li aini iyọ̀, tabi adùn wà ninu funfun ẹyin?
6 Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
7 Ohun ti ọkàn mi kọ̀ lati tọ́, on li o dàbi onjẹ mi ti kò ni adùn.
7 The things that my soul refused to touch are as my sorrowful meat.
8 A! emi iba lè ri iberè mi gbà; ati pe, ki Ọlọrun le fi ohun ti emi ṣafẹri fun mi.
8 Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant me the thing that I long for!
9 Ani, Ọlọrun iba jẹ pa mi run, ti on iba jẹ ṣiwọ rẹ̀ ki o si ké mi kuro.
9 Even that it would please God to destroy me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!
10 Nigbana ni emi iba ni itunú sibẹ, ani emi iba mu ọkàn mi le ninu ibinujẹ mi ti kò da ni si: nitori emi kò fi ọ̀rọ Ẹni Mimọ́ nì sin ri.
10 Then should I yet have comfort; yea, I would harden myself in sorrow: let him not spare; for I have not concealed the words of the Holy One.
11 Kili agbara mi ti emi o fi dabá? ki si li opin mi ti emi o fi fà ẹmi mi gùn?
11 What is my strength, that I should hope? and what is mine end, that I should prolong my life?
12 Agbara mi iṣe agbara okuta bi, tabi ẹran ara mi iṣe idẹ?
12 Is my strength the strength of stones? or is my flesh of brass?
13 Iranlọwọ mi kò ha wà ninu mi: ọgbọn ha ti salọ kuro lọdọ mi bi?
13 Is not my help in me? and is wisdom driven quite from me?
14 Ẹniti aya rẹ̀ yọ́ danu tan ni a ba ma ṣãnu fun lati ọdọ ọrẹ rẹ̀ wá, ki o má kọ̀ ibẹru Olodumare silẹ̀.
14 To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty.
15 Awọn ará mi ṣẹ̀tan bi odò ṣolõ, bi iṣàn gburu omi odò ṣolõ, nwọn ṣàn kọja lọ.
15 My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook, and as the stream of brooks they pass away;
16 Ti o dúdu nitori omi didì, ati nibiti òjo didì gbe lùmọ si.
16 Which are blackish by reason of the ice, and wherein the snow is hid:
17 Nigbakũgba ti nwọn ba gboná, nwọn a si yọ́ ṣanlọ, nigbati õrùn ba mú, nwọn si gbẹ kurò ni ipò wọn.
17 What time they wax warm, they vanish: when it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.
18 Iya ọ̀na wọn a si yipada sapakan, nwọn goke si ibi asan, nwọn si run.
18 The paths of their way are turned aside; they go to nothing, and perish.
19 Ẹgbẹ ogun Tema nwoye, awọn ọwọ́-èro Seba duro de wọn.
19 The troops of Tema looked, the companies of Sheba waited for them.
20 Nwọn dãmu, nitoriti nwọn ni abá; nwọn debẹ̀, nwọn si dãmu.
20 They were confounded because they had hoped; they came thither, and were ashamed.
21 Njẹ nisisiyi, ẹnyin dabi wọn; ẹnyin ri irẹ̀silẹ mi, aiya si fò nyin.
21 For now ye are nothing; ye see my casting down, and are afraid.
22 Emi ha wipe, ẹ mu ohun fun mi wá, tabi pe, ẹ bun mi ni ẹ̀bun ninu ohun ini nyin?
22 Did I say, Bring unto me? or, Give a reward for me of your substance?
23 Tabi, ẹ gbà mi li ọwọ ọ̀ta nì, tabi, ẹ rà mi padà kuro lọwọ alagbara nì!
23 Or, Deliver me from the enemy's hand? or, Redeem me from the hand of the mighty?
24 Ẹ kọ́ mi, emi o si pa ẹnu mi mọ́; ki ẹ si mu mi moye ibiti mo gbe ti ṣìna.
24 Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred.
25 Wo! bi ọ̀rọ otitọ ti li agbara to! ṣugbọn kini aròye ibawi nyin jasi?
25 How forcible are right words! but what doth your arguing reprove?
26 Ẹnyin ṣebi ẹ o ba ọ̀rọ ati ohùn ẹnu ẹniti o taku wi, ti o dabi afẹfẹ.
26 Do ye imagine to reprove words, and the speeches of one that is desperate, which are as wind?
27 Ani ẹnyin ṣẹ́ gege fun alainibaba, ẹnyin si da iye le ọrẹ nyin.
27 Yea, ye overwhelm the fatherless, and ye dig a pit for your friend.
28 Nitorina ki eyi ki o tó fun nyin: ẹ ma wò mi! nitoripe o hàn gbangba pe: li oju nyin ni emi kì yio ṣeke.
28 Now therefore be content, look upon me; for it is evident unto you if I lie.
29 Emi bẹ̀ nyin, ẹ pada, ki o má ṣe jasi ẹ̀ṣẹ: ani ẹ si tun pada, are mi mbẹ ninu ọ̀ran yi.
29 Return, I pray you, let it not be iniquity; yea, return again, my righteousness is in it.
30 Aiṣedede ha wà li ahọn mi? njẹ itọwò ẹnu mi kò kuku le imọ̀ ohun ti o burujù?
30 Is there iniquity in my tongue? cannot my taste discern perverse things?
