Read Job 2

1 O si tun di ijọ kan nigbati awọn ọmọ Ọlọrun wá ipé niwaju Oluwa, Satani si wá pẹlu wọn, lati pé niwaju Oluwa.

1 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

2 Oluwa si bi Satani pe, nibo ni iwọ ti wá? Satani si dá Oluwa lohùn pe, lati ilọ siwá sẹhin lori ilẹ aiye ati ni irinkerindo ninu rẹ̀.

2 And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

3 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

4 Satani si dá Oluwa lohùn wipe, awọ fun awọ; ani ohun gbogbo ti enia ni, on ni yio fi rà ẹmi rẹ̀.

4 And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.

5 Ṣugbọn nawọ rẹ nisisiyi, ki o si fi tọ́ egungun rẹ̀ ati ara rẹ̀, bi kì yio si bọhùn li oju rẹ.

5 But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.

6 Oluwa si wi fun Satani pe, Wõ, o mbẹ ni ikawọ rẹ, ṣugbọn dá ẹmi rẹ̀ si.

6 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.

7 Bẹ̃ni Satani jade lọ kuro niwaju Oluwa, o si sọ Jobu li õwo kikankikan lati atẹlẹsẹ rẹ̀ lọ de atari rẹ̀.

7 So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.

8 O si mu apadì o fi nhá ara rẹ̀, o si joko ninu ẽru.

8 And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes.

9 Nigbana ni aya rẹ̀ wi fun u pe, iwọ di ìwa otitọ rẹ mu sibẹ! bu Ọlọrun, ki o si kú.

9 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.

10 Ṣugbọn on da a lohùn pe, iwọ sọ̀rọ bi ọkan ninu awọn obinrin alaimoye ti isọ̀rọ; kinla! awa o ha gba ire lọwọ Ọlọrun, ki a má si gba ibi! Ninu gbogbo eyi Jobu kò fi ète rẹ̀ ṣẹ̀.

10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

11 Nigbati awọn ọrẹ Jobu mẹta gburo gbogbo ibi ti o ba a, nwọn wá, olukuluku lati ibujoko rẹ̀ wá; Elifasi, ara Tema, a si Bildadi, ara Ṣua, ati Sofari, ara Naama: nitoripe nwọn ti dajọ ipade pọ̀ lati ba a ṣọ̀fọ on ati ṣipẹ fun u.

11 Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.

12 Nigbati nwọn si gboju wọn wò li òkere rére, ti nwọn kò si mọ̀ ọ, nwọn gbe ohùn wọn soke, nwọn sọkun: olukuluku si fa aṣọ igunwa rẹ̀ ya, nwọn si kù erupẹ si oju ọrun si ara wọn lori.

12 And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.

13 Bẹ̃ni nwọn joko tì i ni ilẹyilẹ ni ijọ meje ti ọ̀san ti oru, ẹnikẹni kò si ba a dá ọ̀rọ kan sọ nitoriti nwọn ri pe, ibinujẹ rẹ̀ pọ̀ gidigidi.

13 So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spake a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great.
