1 NIGBATI emi iba mu Israeli li ara dá, nigbana ni ẹ̀ṣẹ Efraimu fi ara hàn, ati ìwa-buburu Samaria; nitori nwọn ṣeké; olè si wọle, ọwọ́ olè si nkoni lode.
1 When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief cometh in, and the troop of robbers spoileth without.
2 Nwọn kò si rò li ọkàn wọn pe, emi ranti gbogbo ìwa-buburu wọn: nisisiyi iṣẹ ara wọn duro yi wọn ka; nwọn wà niwaju mi.
2 And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face.
3 Nwọn fi ìwa-buburu wọn mu ki ọba yọ̀; nwọn si fi eké wọn mu awọn ọmọ-alade yọ̀.
3 They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
4 Gbogbo nwọn ni panṣagà, bi ãrò ti alakàra mu gboná, ti o dawọ́ kikoná duro, lẹhìn igbati o ti pò iyẹ̀fun tan, titi yio fi wú.
4 They are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, who ceaseth from raising after he hath kneeded the dough, until it be leavened.
5 Li ọjọ ọba wa, awọn ọmọ-alade ti fi oru ọti-waini mu u ṣaisàn; o nà ọwọ́ rẹ̀ jade pẹlu awọn ẹlẹgàn.
5 In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.
6 Nitori nwọn ti mura ọkàn wọn silẹ bi ãrò, nigbati nwọn ba ni buba: alakàra wọn sùn ni gbogbo oru; li owurọ̀ o jo bi ọwọ́-iná.
6 For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.
7 Gbogbo wọn gboná bi ãrò, nwọn ti jẹ awọn onidajọ wọn run; gbogbo ọba wọn ṣubu: kò si ẹnikan ninu wọn ti o ke pè mi.
7 They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.
8 Efraimu, on ti dà ara rẹ̀ pọ̀ mọ awọn enia na; Efraimu ni akàra ti a kò yipadà.
8 Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.
9 Awọn alejò ti jẹ agbara rẹ̀ run, on kò si mọ̀: nitõtọ, ewú wà kakiri li ara rẹ̀, sibẹ̀ on kò mọ̀.
9 Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not.
10 Igberaga Israeli si njẹri si i li oju rẹ̀; nwọn kò si yipadà si Oluwa Ọlọrun wọn, bẹ̃ni fun gbogbo eyi nwọn kò si wá a.
10 And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this.
11 Efraimu pẹlu dabi òpe adàba ti kò li ọkàn; nwọn kọ si Egipti, nwọn lọ si Assiria.
11 Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.
12 Nigbati nwọn o lọ, emi o nà àwọn mi le wọn; emi o mu wọn wá ilẹ bi ẹiyẹ oju-ọrun; emi o nà wọn, bi ijọ-enia wọn ti gbọ́.
12 When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.
13 Egbe ni fun wọn! nitori nwọn ti sá kuro lọdọ mi: iparun ni fun wọn! nitori nwọn ti ṣẹ̀ si mi: bi o tilẹ ṣepe mo ti rà wọn padà, ṣugbọn nwọn ti ṣe eké si mi.
13 Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
14 Nwọn kò si ti fi tọkàntọkàn ké pè mi, nigbati nwọn hu lori akete wọn: nwọn kó ara wọn jọ fun ọkà ati ọti-waini, nwọn si ṣọ̀tẹ si mi.
14 And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me.
15 Bi mo ti dì, ti mo si fun apa wọn li okun, sibẹ̀ nwọn nrò ibi si mi.
15 Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.
16 Nwọn yipadà, ṣugbọn kì iṣe si Ọga-ogo: nwọn dàbi ọrun ẹtàn; awọn ọmọ-alade wọn yio tipa idà ṣubu, nitori irúnu ahọn wọn: eyi ni yio ṣe ẹsín wọn ni ilẹ Egipti.
16 They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
