1 Ẹ wá, ẹ jẹ ki a yipadà si Oluwa: nitori o ti fà wa ya, on o si mu wa lara da; o ti lù wa, yio si tun wa dì.

1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

2 Lẹhìn ijọ meji, yio tún wa jí: ni ijọ kẹta yio ji wa dide, awa o si wà lãyè niwaju rẹ̀.

2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

3 Nigbana li awa o mọ̀, bi a ba tẹramọ́ ati mọ̀ Oluwa: ati pèse ijadelọ rẹ̀ bi owùrọ: on o si tọ̀ wa wá bi ojò: bi arọ̀kuro ati akọrọ̀ òjo si ilẹ.

3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

4 Efraimu, kili emi o ṣe si ọ? Juda, kili emi o ṣe si ọ? nitori ore nyin dàbi ikuku owurọ̀, ati bi ìri kùtukùtu ti o kọja lọ.

4 O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.

5 Nitorina ni mo ṣe fi ãké ké wọn lati ọwọ awọn woli; mo ti fi ọ̀rọ ẹnu mi pa wọn: ki idajọ rẹ le ri bi imọlẹ ti o jade lọ.

5 Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth.

6 Nitori ãnu ni mo fẹ́, ki iṣe ẹbọ; ati ìmọ Ọlọrun jù ọrẹ-ẹbọ sisun lọ.

6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

7 Ṣugbọn bi Adamu nwọn ti dá majẹmu kọja: nibẹ̀ ni nwọn ti ṣẹ̀tan si mi.

7 But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.

8 Gileadi ni ilu awọn ti nṣiṣẹ ẹ̀ṣẹ, a si ti fi ẹ̀jẹ bà a jẹ.

8 Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood.

9 Ati gẹgẹ bi ọwọ́ olè iti lùmọ dè enia, bẹ̃ni ẹgbẹ́ awọn alufa fohùnṣọ̀kan lati pania li ọ̀na: nitori nwọn dá ẹ̀ṣẹ nla.

9 And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.

10 Mo ti ri ohun buburu kan ni ile Israeli: agbère Efraimu wà nibẹ̀, Israeli ti bajẹ.

10 I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.

11 Iwọ Juda pẹlu, on ti gbe ikorè kalẹ fun ọ, nigbati mo ba yi igbekun awọn enia mi padà.

11 Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people.
