1 O si ṣe li ọjọ kẹta, ni Esteri wọ̀ aṣọ ayaba rẹ̀, o si duro ni àgbala ile ọba ti o wà ninu, lọgangan ile ọba: ọba si joko lori ìtẹ ijọba rẹ̀ ni ile ọba, ti o kọjusi ẹnu-ọ̀na ile na.

1 Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.

2 O si ṣe nigbati ọba ri ti Esteri ayaba duro ni àgbala, on si ri ore-ọfẹ loju rẹ̀: ọba si nà ọ̀pá alade wura ti o wà lọwọ rẹ̀ si Esteri. Esteri si sunmọ ọ, o si fi ọwọ kàn ori ọpá alade na.

2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

3 Nigbana ni ọba bi i pe, kini iwọ nfẹ́, Esteri ayaba? ati kini ẹ̀bẹ rẹ̀? ani de idajì ijọba li a o si fi fun ọ.

3 Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.

4 Esteri si dahùn pe, bi o ba dara loju ọba, jẹ ki ọba ati Hamani ki o wá loni si àse mi, ti mo ti mura silẹ fun u.

4 And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.

5 Nigbana ni ọba wi pe, ẹ mu ki Hamani ki o yara, ki on ki o le ṣe bi Esteri ti wi. Bẹ̃ni ọba ati Hamani wá si àse na ti Esteri ti sè silẹ.

5 Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.

6 Ọba si wi fun Esteri nibiti nwọn gbe nmu ọti-waini pe, kini ibere rẹ? a o si fi fun ọ: ki si ni ẹ̀bẹ rẹ? ani de idajì ijọba, a o si ṣe e.

6 And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.

7 Nigbana ni Esteri dahùn, o si wi pe, ẹ̀bẹ mi ati ibère mi ni pe,

7 Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is;

8 Bi mo ba ri ore-ọfẹ loju ọba, bi o ba si wù ọba lati fi ohun ti emi ntọrọ fun mi, ati lati ṣe ohun ti emi mbère fun mi, jẹ ki ọba ati Hamani ki o wá si àse ti emi o si tun sè fun wọn, emi o si ṣe li ọla bi ọba ti wi.

8 If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do tomorrow as the king hath said.

9 Nigbana ni Hamani jade lọ li ọjọ na tayọ̀tayọ̀, ati pẹlu inu didùn: ṣugbọn nigbati Hamani ri Mordekai li ẹnu ọ̀na ile ọba pe, kò dide duro, bẹ̃ni kò pa ara rẹ̀ da fun on, Hamani kún fun ibinu si Mordekai.

9 Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai.

10 Ṣugbọn Hamani kó ara rẹ̀ ni ijanu: nigbati o si de ile, o ranṣẹ lọ ipè awọn ọrẹ rẹ̀, ati Sereṣi aya rẹ̀.

10 Nevertheless Haman refrained himself: and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife.

11 Hamani si ròhin ogo ọrọ̀ rẹ̀, ati ọ̀pọlọpọ awọn ọmọ rẹ̀, ati ninu ohun gbogbo ti ọba fi gbe e ga, ati bi o ti gbe on ga jù awọn ijoye, ati awọn ọmọ-ọdọ ọba lọ.

11 And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.

12 Hamani si wi pẹlu pe, ani Esteri ayaba kò mu ki ẹnikẹni ki o ba ọba wá si ibi àse ti o ti sè bikoṣe emi nikan; li ọla ẹ̀wẹ li a si tun pè mi pẹlu ọba lati wá si ọdọ rẹ̀,

12 Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king.

13 Ṣugbọn gbogbo wọnyi kò di nkankan fun mi, niwọ̀n igbati mo ba ri Mordekai, ara Juda nì, ti o joko li ẹnu ọ̀na ile ọba.

13 Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate.

14 Nigbana ni Sereṣi aya rẹ̀, ati gbogbo awọn ọrẹ rẹ̀ wi fun u pe, Jẹ ki a rì igi kan, ki o ga ni ãdọta igbọnwọ, ati li ọla ni ki o ba ọba sọ ọ ki a so Mordekai rọ̀ nibẹ: iwọ̀ o si fi ayọ̀ ba ọba lọ si ibi àse. Nkan yi dùn mọ Hamani, o si rì igi na.

14 Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and tomorrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.
