1 Nigbati Mordekai mọ̀ gbogbo ohun ti a ṣe, Mordekai fa aṣọ rẹ̀ ya, o si fi aṣọ-ọ̀fọ on ẽru bò ara, o si jade lọ si ãrin ilu na, o si sọkun kikan ati kikoro.

1 When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry;

2 O tilẹ wá siwaju ẹnu-ọna ile ọba: nitori kò si ẹnikan ti o fi aṣọ-ọfọ si ara ti o gbọdọ wọ̀ ẹnu-ọ̀na ile ọba.

2 And came even before the king's gate: for none might enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth.

3 Ati ni gbogbo ìgberiko, nibiti ofin ọba, ati aṣẹ rẹ̀ ba de, ọ̀fọ nla ba gbogbo awọn Ju; ati ãwẹ, ati ẹkún, ati ipohùnrere; ọ̀pọlọpọ li o si dubulẹ ninu aṣọ-ọ̀fọ, ati ninu ẽru.

3 And in every province, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.

4 Bẹ̃li awọn iranṣẹbinrin Esteri ati awọn ìwẹfa rẹ̀ wá, nwọn si sọ fun u. Nigbana ni inu ayaba bajẹ gidigidi; o si fi aṣọ ranṣẹ lati fi wọ̀ Mordekai, ati lati mu aṣọ-ọ̀fọ rẹ̀ kuro lara rẹ̀, ṣugbọn on kò gbà a.

4 So Esther's maids and her chamberlains came and told it her. Then was the queen exceedingly grieved; and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away his sackcloth from him: but he received it not.

5 Nigbana ni Esteri pè Hataki, ọkan ninu awọn ìwẹfa ọba, ẹniti o ti yàn lati duro niwaju rẹ̀, o si rán a si Mordekai lati mọ̀ ohun ti o ṣe, ati nitori kini?

5 Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king's chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was.

6 Bẹ̃ni Hataki jade tọ̀ Mordekai lọ si ita ilu niwaju ẹnu-ọ̀na ile ọba.

6 So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which was before the king's gate.

7 Mordekai si sọ ohun gbogbo ti o ri to fun u, ati ti iye owo fadaka ti Hamani ti ṣe ileri lati san si ile iṣura ọba, nitori awọn Ju, lati pa wọn run.

7 And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.

8 Ati pẹlu, o fi iwe aṣẹ na pãpã, ti a pa ni Ṣuṣani lati pa awọn Ju run, le e lọwọ, lati fi hàn Esteri, ati lati sọ fun u, ati lati paṣẹ fun u ki on ki o wọle tọ̀ ọba lọ, lati bẹ̀bẹ lọwọ rẹ̀, ati lati bẹ̀bẹ niwaju rẹ̀, nitori awọn enia rẹ̀.

8 Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given at Shushan to destroy them, to shew it unto Esther, and to declare it unto her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people.

9 Hataki si wá o si sọ gbogbo ọ̀rọ Mordekai fun Esteri.

9 And Hatach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai.

10 Esteri si tun sọ fun Hataki, o si rán a si Mordekai.

10 Again Esther spake unto Hatach, and gave him commandment unto Mordecai;

11 Pe, gbogbo awọn iranṣẹ ọba, ati awọn enia ìgberiko ọba li o mọ̀ pe, ẹnikẹni ibaṣe ọkunrin tabi obinrin, ti o ba tọ̀ ọba wá sinu àgbala ti inu, ti a kò ba pè, ofin rẹ̀ kan ni, ki a pa a, bikoṣe iru ẹniti ọba ba nà ọpá alade wura si, ki on ki o le yè: ṣugbọn a kò ti ipè mi lati wọ̀ ile tọ̀ ọba lọ lati ìwọn ọgbọn ọjọ yi wá.

11 All the king's servants, and the people of the king's provinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days.

12 Nwọn si sọ ọ̀rọ Esteri fun Mordekai.

12 And they told to Mordecai Esther's words.

13 Nigbana ni Mordekai sọ ki a da Esteri lohùn pe, Máṣe rò ninu ara rẹ pe, iwọ o là ninu ile ọba jù gbogbo awọn Ju lọ.

13 Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews.

14 Nitori bi iwọ ba pa ẹnu rẹ mọ́ patapata li akokò yi, nigbana ni iranlọwọ ati igbala awọn Ju yio dide lati ibomiran wá; ṣugbọn iwọ ati ile baba rẹ li a o parun: tali o si mọ̀ bi nitori iru akokò bayi ni iwọ ṣe de ijọba?

14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

15 Nigbana ni Esteri rán wọn lọ ifi èsi yi fun Mordekai pe,

15 Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer,

16 Lọ, pè awọn Ju ti a le ri ni Ṣuṣani jọ, ki ẹnyin si ma gbãwẹ, fun mi, ki ẹnyin ki o máṣe jẹun, bẹ̃ni ki ẹnyin ki o máṣe mu ni ijọ mẹta t'ọsan t'oru: emi pẹlu ati awọn iranṣẹbinrin mi yio gbãwẹ bẹ̃ gẹgẹ; bẹ̃li emi o si wọ̀ ile tọ̀ ọba lọ, ti o lòdi si ofin; bi mo ba ṣègbe, mo ṣègbe.

16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

17 Bẹ̃ni Mordekai ba ọ̀na rẹ̀ lọ, o si ṣe gẹgẹ bi gbogbo eyiti Esteri ti paṣẹ fun u.

17 So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.
