¹ NITORI emi nfẹ ki ẹnyin ki o mọ̀ bi iwaya-ìja ti mo ni fun nyin ti pọ̀ to, ati fun awọn ará Laodikea, ati fun iye awọn ti kò ti iri oju mi nipa ti ara;

¹ For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

² Ki a le tu ọkàn wọn ninu, bi a ti so wọn pọ̀ ninu ifẹ ati si gbogbo ọrọ̀ ẹ̀kún oye ti o daju, si imọ̀ ohun ijinlẹ Ọlọrun ani Kristi;

² That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

³ Inu ẹniti a ti fi gbogbo iṣura ọgbọ́n ati ti ìmọ pamọ́ si.

³ In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

⁴ Eyi ni mo si nwi, ki ẹnikẹni ki o má bã fi ọ̀rọ ẹtàn mu nyin ṣina.

⁴ And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

⁵ Nitoripe bi emi kò tilẹ si lọdọ nyin li ara, ṣugbọn emi mbẹ lọdọ nyin li ẹmí, mo nyọ̀, mo si nkiyesi eto nyin, ati iduroṣinṣin igbagbọ́ nyin ninu Kristi.

⁵ For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

⁶ Nitorina bi ẹnyin ti gbà Kristi Jesu Oluwa, bẹ̃ni ki ẹ mã rìn ninu rẹ̀:

⁶ As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

⁷ Ki ẹ fi gbongbo mulẹ, ki a si gbe nyin ro ninu rẹ̀, ki ẹ si fi ẹsẹ mulẹ ninu igbagbọ nyin, gẹgẹ bi a ti kọ́ nyin, ki ẹ si mã pọ̀ ninu rẹ̀ pẹlu idupẹ.

⁷ Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

⁸ Ẹ mã kiyesara ki ẹnikẹni ki o máṣe fi ìmọ ati ẹ̀tan asan dì nyin ni igbekun, gẹgẹ bi itan enia, gẹgẹ bi ipilẹṣẹ ẹkọ aiye, ti ki iṣe bi ti Kristi.

⁸ Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

⁹ Nitoripe ninu rẹ̀ ni gbogbo ẹ̀kún Iwa-Ọlọrun ngbé li ara-iyara.

⁹ For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

¹⁰ A si ti ṣe nyin ni kikún ninu rẹ̀, ẹniti iṣe ori fun gbogbo ijọba ati agbara:

¹⁰ And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

¹¹ Ninu ẹniti a ti fi ikọla ti a kò fi ọwọ kọ kọ nyin ni ila, ni bibọ ara ẹ̀ṣẹ silẹ, ninu ikọla Kristi:

¹¹ In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

¹² Bi a si ti sin nyin pọ̀ pẹlu rẹ̀ ninu baptismu, ninu eyiti a si ti jí nyin dide pẹlu rẹ̀ nipa igbagbọ́ ninu iṣẹ Ọlọrun, ẹniti o jí i dide kuro ninu okú.

¹² Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

¹³ Ati ẹnyin, ẹniti o ti kú nitori ẹ̀ṣẹ nyin ati aikọla ara nyin, mo ni, ẹnyin li o si ti sọdi ãye pọ̀ pẹlu rẹ̀, o si ti dari gbogbo ẹ̀ṣẹ nyin jì nyin;

¹³ And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

¹⁴ O si ti pa iwe majẹmu nì rẹ́, ti o lodi si wa, ti a kọ ninu ofin, eyiti o lodi si wa: on li o si ti mu kuro loju ọ̀na, o si kàn a mọ agbelebu;

¹⁴ Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

¹⁵ O si ti já awọn ijọba ati agbara kuro li ara rẹ̀, o si ti dojuti wọn ni gbangba, o nyọ̀ ayọ̀ iṣẹgun lori wọn ninu rẹ̀.

¹⁵ And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

¹⁶ Nitorina ẹ máṣe jẹ ki ẹnikẹni mã ṣe idajọ nyin niti jijẹ, tabi niti mimu, tabi niti ọjọ ase, tabi oṣù titun, tabi ọjọ isimi:

¹⁶ Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

¹⁷ Awọn ti iṣe ojiji ohun ti mbọ̀; ṣugbọn ti Kristi li ara.

¹⁷ Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

¹⁸ Ẹ máṣe jẹ ki ẹnikẹni fi adabọwọ irẹlẹ ati bibọ awọn angẹli lọ́ ere nyin gbà lọwọ nyin, ẹniti nduro lori nkan wọnni ti o ti ri, ti o nti ipa ero rẹ̀ niti ara ṣeféfe asan,

¹⁸ Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

¹⁹ Ti kò si di Ori nì mu ṣinṣin, lati ọdọ ẹniti a nti ipa orike ati iṣan pese fun gbogbo ara, ti a si nso o ṣọkan pọ, ti o si ndagba nipa ibisi Ọlọrun.

¹⁹ And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

²⁰ Bi ẹnyin ba ti kú pẹlu Kristi kuro ninu ipilẹṣẹ aiye, ẽhatiṣe ti ẹnyin ntẹriba fun ofin bi ẹnipe ẹnyin wà ninu aiye,

²⁰ Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

²¹ Maṣe fọwọkàn, maṣe tọ́wò, maṣe fọwọbà,

²¹ (Touch not; taste not; handle not;

²² (Gbogbo eyiti yio ti ipa lilo run), gẹgẹ bi ofin ati ẹkọ́ enia?

²² Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

²³ Awọn nkan ti o ni afarawe ọgbọ́n nitõtọ, ni adabọwọ ìsin, ati irẹlẹ, ati ìpọn-ara-loju, ṣugbọn ti kò ni ere kan ninu fun ifẹkufẹ ara.

²³ Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
