Read Amos 5
1 Ẹ gbọ́ ọ̀rọ yi ti emi gbe soke si nyin, ani ohùnrére ẹkun, ẹnyin ile Israeli.
1 Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.
2 Wundia Israeli ti ṣubu; kì yio dide mọ: a kọ̀ ọ silẹ lori ilẹ rẹ̀; kò si ẹniti yio gbe e dide.
2 The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
3 Nitori bayi li Oluwa Ọlọrun wi; Ilu ti o jade lọ li ẹgbẹrun yio ṣikù ọgọrun; eyiti o si jade lọ li ọgọrun yio ṣikù mẹwa, fun ile Israeli.
3 For thus saith the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
4 For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
5 Ṣugbọn ẹ máṣe wá Beteli, bẹ̃ni ki ẹ má wọ̀ inu Gilgali lọ, ẹ má si rekọja lọ si Beerṣeba: nitori lõtọ Gilgali yio lọ si igbèkun, Beteli yio si di asan.
5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought.
6 Ẹ wá Oluwa, ẹnyin o si yè; ki o má ba gbilẹ bi iná ni ile Josefu, a si jó o run, ti kì o fi si ẹnikan lati pá a ni Beteli.
6 Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.
7 Ẹnyin ti ẹ sọ idajọ di iwọ, ti ẹ si kọ̀ ododo silẹ li aiye.
7 Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,
8 Ẹ wá ẹniti o dá irawọ̀ meje nì ati Orioni, ti o si sọ ojiji ikú di owurọ̀, ti o si fi oru mu ọjọ ṣokùnkun: ti o pè awọn omi okun, ti o si tú wọn jade soju aiye: Oluwa li orukọ rẹ̀:
8 Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
9 Ti o mu iparun kọ manà sori alagbara, tobẹ̃ ti iparun yio wá si odi agbara.
9 That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.
10 Nwọn korira ẹniti nbaniwi li ẹnu bodè, nwọn si korira ẹniti nsọ otitọ.
10 They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.
11 Nitorina niwọ̀n bi itẹ̀mọlẹ nyin ti wà lori talakà, ti ẹnyin si gba ẹrù alikama lọwọ rẹ̀: ẹnyin ti fi okuta ti a gbẹ́ kọ́ ile, ṣugbọn ẹ kì o gbe inu wọn; ẹnyin ti gbìn ọgbà àjara daradara, ṣugbọn ẹ kì o mu ọti-waini wọn.
11 Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.
12 Nitori mo mọ̀ onirũru irekọja nyin, ati ẹ̀ṣẹ nla nyin: nwọn npọ́n olododo loju, nwọn ngbà owo abẹ̀tẹlẹ, nwọn si nyi awọn talakà si apakan ni bodè, kuro ninu are wọn.
12 For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
13 Nitorina ẹni-oye yio dakẹ nigbana; nitori akòko ibi ni.
13 Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.
14 Ẹ ma wá ire, kì isi iṣe ibi, ki ẹ ba le yè; bẹ̃ni Oluwa, Ọlọrun awọn ọmọ-ogun, yio si pẹlu nyin, bi ẹnyin ti wi.
14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.
15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
16 Nitorina Oluwa Ọlọrun awọn ọmọ-ogun, ani Oluwa wi bayi pe, Ẹkun yio wà ni gbogbo ita; nwọn o si ma wi ni gbogbo òpopó ọ̀na pe, Ã! ã! nwọn o si pè agbẹ̀ si iṣọ̀fọ, ati iru awọn ti o gbọ́n lati pohùnrére si isọkún.
16 Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.
17 Ati ni gbogbo ọ̀gba àjara ni isọkún yio gbe wà: nitori emi o kọja lãrin rẹ, li Oluwa wi.
17 And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the LORD.
18 Egbe ni fun ẹnyin ti ẹ nfẹ́ ọjọ Oluwa! kili eyi o jasi fun nyin? ọjọ Oluwa òkunkun ni, kì isi iṣe imọlẹ.
18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
19 Gẹgẹ bi enia ti o sa fun kiniun, ti beari si pade rẹ̀; tabi ti o wọ̀ inu ile, ti o si fi ọwọ́ rẹ̀ tì lara ogiri, ti ejò si bù u jẹ.
19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
20 Ọjọ Oluwa kì o ha ṣe òkunkun laiṣe imọlẹ? ani òkunkun biribiri, laisi imọlẹ ninu rẹ̀?
20 Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?
21 Mo korira, mo si kẹgàn ọjọ asè nyin, emi kì o si gbõrùn ọjọ ajọ ọ̀wọ nyin.
21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
22 Bi ẹnyin tilẹ rú ẹbọ sisun ati ẹbọ jijẹ nyin si mi, emi kì o si gbà wọn: bẹ̃ni emi ki yio nani ẹbọ ọpẹ́ ẹran abọ́pa nyin.
22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
23 Mu ariwo orin rẹ kuro lọdọ mi; nitori emi kì o gbọ́ iró adùn fioli rẹ.
23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
24 But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
25 Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
26 Ṣugbọn ẹnyin ti rù agọ Moloku ati Kiuni nyin, awọn ere nyin, irawọ̀ òriṣa nyin, ti ẹ ṣe fun ara nyin.
26 But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.
27 Nitorina, emi o mu ki ẹ lọ si igbèkun rekọja Damasku, li Oluwa wi, Ọlọrun awọn ọmọ-ogun li orukọ rẹ̀.
27 Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.
