1 Bi a si ti pinnu rẹ̀ pe ki a wọ̀ ọkọ lọ si Itali, nwọn fi Paulu, ati awọn ondè miran kan pẹlu, le balogun ọrún kan lọwọ, ti a npè ni Juliu, ti ẹgbẹ ọmọ-ogun Augustu.
1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band.
2 Nigbati a si wọ̀ ọkọ̀ Adramittiu kan, ti nfẹ lọ si awọn ilu ti o wà leti okun Asia, awa ṣikọ̀: Aristarku, ara Makedonia ti Tessalonika, wà pẹlu wa.
2 And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.
3 Ni ijọ keji awa de Sidoni. Juliu si ṣe inu rere si Paulu, o si bùn u láye ki o mã tọ̀ awọn ọrẹ́ rẹ̀ lọ lati ri itọju.
3 And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.
4 Nigbati awa si ṣikọ̀ nibẹ̀, awa lọ lẹba Kipru, nitoriti afẹfẹ ṣọwọ òdi.
4 And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
5 Nigbati awa ré okun Kilikia on Pamfilia kọja, awa de Mira Likia.
5 And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.
6 Nibẹ̀ ni balogun ọrún si ri ọkọ̀ Aleksandria kan, ti nlọ si Itali; o si fi wa sinu rẹ̀.
6 And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.
7 Nigbati awa nlọ jẹ́jẹ li ọjọ pipọ, ti awa fi agbara kaka de ọkankan Knidu, ti afẹfẹ kò bùn wa làye, awa lọ lẹba Krete, li ọkankan Salmone;
7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;
8 Nigbati a si fi agbara kaka kọja rẹ̀, awa de ibi ti a npè ni Ebute Yiyanjú, ti o sunmọ ibiti ilu Lasea ti wà ri.
8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.
9 Nigbati a si ti sọ ọjọ pipọ nù, ti a-ti ta igbokun wa idi ewu tan, nitori Awẹ ti kọja tan, Paulu da imọran,
9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,
10 O si wi fun wọn pe, Alàgba, mo woye pe iṣikọ̀ yi yio li ewu ati òfo pipọ, kì iṣe kìki ti ẹrù ati ti ọkọ̀, ṣugbọn ti ẹmí wa pẹlu.
10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
11 Ṣugbọn balogun ọrún gbà ti olori ọkọ̀ ati ti ọlọkọ̀ gbọ́, jù ohun wọnni ti Paulu wi lọ.
11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
12 Ati nitori ebute na kò rọrùn lati lo akoko otutu nibẹ̀, awọn pipọ si damọran pe, ki a lọ kuro nibẹ̀, bi nwọn ó le làkàka de Fenike lati lo akoko otutu, ti iṣe ebute Krete ti o kọju si òsi ìwọ õrùn, ati ọtún ìwọ õrùn.
12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.
13 Nigbati afẹfẹ gusù si nfẹ jẹ́jẹ, ti nwọn ṣebi ọwọ awọn tẹ̀ ohun ti nwọn nwá, nwọn ṣikọ̀, nwọn npá ẹba Krete lọ.
13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
14 Kò si pẹ lẹhin na ni ìji ti a npè ni Eurakuilo fẹ lù u.
14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
15 Nigbati o si ti gbé ọkọ̀, ti kò si le dojukọ ìji na, awa jọwọ rẹ̀, o ngbá a lọ.
15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.
16 Nigbati o si gbá a lọ labẹ erekuṣu kan ti a npè ni Klauda, o di iṣẹ pipọ ki awa ki o to le sunmọ igbaja.
16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:
17 Nigbati nwọn si gbé e soke, nwọn nṣe iranlọwọ, nwọn ndì ọkọ ni isalẹ; nigbati nwọn si bẹ̀ru ki a ma ba gbá wọn sori iyanrìn diẹ̀, nwọn tagbokun, nwọn si ngbá kiri.
17 Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.
18 Bi awa si ti nṣe lãlã gidigidi ninu ìji na, ni ijọ keji nwọn kó nkan dà si omi lati mu ọkọ̀ fẹrẹ;
18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;
19 Ati ni ijọ kẹta, a fi ọwọ́ ara wa kó ohun èlo ọkọ̀ danu.
19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.
20 Nigbati õrùn ati irawọ kò si hàn li ọjọ pipọ, ti ìji na kò si mọ̀ niwọn fun wa, abá a-ti-là kò si fun wa mọ́.
20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
21 Nigbati nwọn wà ni aijẹun li ọjọ pipọ, nigbana Paulu dide larin wọn, o ni, Alàgba, ẹnyin iba ti gbọ́ ti emi, ki a máṣe ṣikọ̀ kuro ni Krete, ewu ati òfo yi kì ba ti ba wa.
21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
22 Njẹ nisisiyi mo gbà nyin niyanju, ki ẹ tújuka: nitori kì yio si òfo ẹmí ninu nyin, bikoṣe ti ọkọ̀.
22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.
23 Nitori angẹli Ọlọrun, ti ẹniti emi iṣe, ati ẹniti emi nsìn, o duro tì mi li oru aná,
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
24 O wipe, Má bẹ̀ru, Paulu; iwọ kò le ṣaima duro niwaju Kesari: si wo o, Ọlọrun ti fi gbogbo awọn ti o ba ọ wọkọ̀ pọ̀ fun ọ.
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
25 Njẹ nitorina, alàgba, ẹ daraya: nitori mo gbà Ọlọrun gbọ́ pe, yio ri bẹ̃ gẹgẹ bi a ti sọ fun mi.
25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
26 Ṣugbọn a ó gbá wa jù si erekuṣu kan.
26 Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.
27 Ṣugbọn nigbati o di oru ijọ kẹrinla, ti awa ngbá sihin sọhún ni Adria, larin ọganjọ awọn atukọ̀ tànmã pe, awọn sunmọ eti ilẹ kan;
27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;
28 Nigbati nwọn si wọ̀n okun, nwọn ri i o jìn li ogún àgbaká: nigbati nwọn si sún siwaju diẹ, nwọn si tún wọ̀n okun, nwọn ri i o jìn ni àgbaká mẹ̃dogun.
28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.
29 Nigbati nwọn bẹ̀ru ki nwọn ki o máṣe gbá lù ibi okuta, nwọn sọ idakọró mẹrin silẹ ni idi ọkọ̀, nwọn nreti ojumọ́.
29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
30 Ṣugbọn nigbati awọn atukọ̀ nwá ọ̀na ati sá kuro ninu ọkọ̀, ti nwọn si ti sọ igbaja kalẹ si oju okun bi ẹnipe nwọn nfẹ sọ idakọró silẹ niwaju ọkọ̀,
30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,
31 Paulu wi fun balogun ọrún ati fun awọn ọmọ-ogun pe, Bikoṣepe awọn wọnyi ba duro ninu ọkọ̀ ẹnyin kì yio le là.
31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.
32 Nigbana li awọn ọmọ-ogun ke okùn igbaja, nwọn jọwọ rẹ̀ ki o ṣubu sọhún.
32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.
33 Nigbati ilẹ nmọ́ bọ̀, Paulu bẹ̀ gbogbo wọn ki nwọn ki o jẹun diẹ, o wipe, Oni li o di ijẹrinla ti ẹnyin ti nreti, ti ẹ kò dẹkun gbãwẹ, ti ẹ kò si jẹun.
33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.
34 Nitorina mo bẹ̀ nyin, ki ẹ jẹun diẹ: nitori eyi ni fun igbala nyin: nitori irun kan kì yio re kuro li ori ẹnikan nyin.
34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
35 Nigbati o si wi nkan wọnyi, ti o si mu akara, o dupẹ lọwọ Ọlọrun niwaju gbogbo wọn: nigbati o si bù u, o bẹ̀rẹ si ijẹ.
35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
36 Nigbana ni gbogbo wọn si daraya, awọn pẹlu si gbà onjẹ.
36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.
37 Gbogbo wa ti mbẹ ninu ọkọ̀ na si jẹ ọrinlugba ọkàn o dí mẹrin.
37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.
38 Nigbati nwọn jẹun yó tan, nwọn kó nkan danù kuro ninu ọkọ̀, nwọn si kó alikama dà si omi.
38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.
39 Nigbati ilẹ si mọ, nwọn kò mọ̀ ilẹ na: ṣugbọn nwọn ri apa odò kan ti o li ebute, nibẹ̀ ni nwọn gbero, bi nwọn o ba le tì ọkọ̀ si.
39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
40 Nigbati nwọn si ké idakọró kuro, nwọn jọ̀wọ wọn sinu okun, lẹsẹkanna nwọn tu ide ọkọ̀, nwọn si ta igbokun iwaju ọkọ̀ si afẹfẹ, nwọn wa kọju si ilẹ.
40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.
41 Nigbati nwọn si de ibiti okun meji pade, nwọn fi ori ọkọ̀ sọlẹ; iwaju rẹ̀ si kàn mọlẹ ṣinṣin, o duro, kò le yi, ṣugbọn agbara riru omi bẹrẹ si fọ́ idi ọkọ̀ na.
41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
42 Ero awọn ọmọ-ogun ni ki a pa awọn onde, ki ẹnikẹni wọn ki o má ba wẹ̀ jade sá lọ.
42 And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
43 Ṣugbọn balogun ọrún nfẹ gbà Paulu là, o kọ̀ ero wọn; o si paṣẹ fun awọn ti o le wẹ̀ ki nwọn ki o kọ́ bọ si okun lọ si ilẹ,
43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
44 Ati awọn iyokù, omiran lori apako, ati omiran lori ẹfọkọ̀. Bẹ̃li o si ṣe ti gbogbo wọn yọ, li alafia de ilẹ.
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
