Ki ẹnikẹni ki o má ba wà ninu nyin, ọkunrin, tabi obinrin, tabi idile, tabi ẹ̀ya, ti àiya rẹ̀ ṣí kuro lọdọ OLUWA Ọlọrun wa li oni, lati lọ isìn oriṣa awọn orilẹ-ède wọnyi; ki gbòngbo ti nyọ orõro ati iwọ, ki o má ba wà ninu nyin;

Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;
